QUOTE(amduser @ Jun 25 2009, 10:14 PM) nowadays many HDMI are also gold plated lar, and i dont even bother it is gold plated or not, maybe you should try other cable i'm not using sony HDMI cable for my PS3 too, i'm using LG HDMI cable that cost me RM99 (the only choice near my place), and connect my Sony Playstation 3 to Samsung 32" full HD LCD TV, it seems like i got a rojak brand around my house, but all working fine if you let me choose between RM30 HDMI cable and RM99 HDMI cable, i'll definitely take the cheap one. Second that, bro, using PS3 with my Samsung 32C450 connected with cheapo carrefour HDMI cable, working fine on 1080p although my TV is not full HD.

i think it is not about cheapo/expensive HDMI cable, as long as the HDMI isn't broken it will work. Although durability comes with a price

I think this is not just about price. Like what I really mention before, it is also about compatibility. I’m myself have RM50 HDMI cable & it’s perfectly can display PS3 up to 1080p. However, I had choose 100% compatible PS3 1080p HDMI which display PS3 logo & picture diagram in front of the box & I bought it at game shop. No issue there. But to pick random HDMI cable without knowing PS3 compatibility, the expensive one should not be a problem. Read up friend. There has been reports of shoddy-made HDMI cables in the past few months. Nothin to do with compatibility. As for his TV, it accepts 1080p signals then downscale it to it's TV native resolution. Many TVs does that. Doesn't mean if it isn't a Full HD panel, it can't display 1080p.

Good day fellas, I am in need of some kind of advice if possible from all you HDTV gurus. I am in the midst of deciding a new tv for myself. What I am looking is 1. 32 inch 2. Full HD 3. Price 3k max So far, my research come down to several model which unfortunately I cant decide on my own since my knowledge in this field is still considered a newbie. This is the model of what I had in mind : 1. Philips 32PFL5609S/98 2. Sharp LC32A66M 3. Panasonic Th-L32S10K 4. Samsung LA32B530P7R 5. LG 80FR I mainly will use the set as a watching movies only. HD of course. So, I am up to any new suggestion as well regarding the model.

I saw this model "Philips 32PFL5609S/98" at JB Plentong Giant there, the promoter spoke to me, and saying this model is the value buy, and price is RM2049, features are Pixel plus function, which meant the dot pixel is smaller than other LCD TV, support USB playback video (Avi,Wmv , so far i knew), FULL HD, Stereo sound is loud and clear (This comment came from my ears, but the bass not so good. and he also show me that the screen is double layer protection, and low power consumption. This is what he told me! and 3 years warranty. Anyone recommend any LCD TV, the philips is quite attractive also , but i cannot find any review through google This post has been edited by hotwebs: Jul 13 2009, 11:35 AM

QUOTE(chicano @ Jul 1 2009, 01:52 PM) All HDMI cable should be compatible to all devices...it is a standard Yes. But if hook up 1080i HDMI, it won't display 1080p on screen. Also there is sound compatibility on HDMI 1.3 & 1.2.

Personally, I would pick the Sony since LCD got better power consumption (face it, at 32", PQ isn't the most important thing). IINM, Sony's have better speakers than Panasonic.
