Actually I don't see how Monash Caufield is party central. Every time I go there, it really pales in comparison with Clayton besides the newer buildings and all. All parties, BBQ, Green Week (100% nude people walking around), C&S, are most active at Clayton.

I don't know what is your definition of 'party central' though. I wonder what is your basis of saying that considering you implied you're not even studying in Caufield. Friends huh? Haha.

If it's not available in Msia, you can check out at Curtin Student Guild: Second-hand Bookshop or buy from previous students.

just got my internet set up today after applying last week - fast enough compared to Telstra home line, which charged me extra AUD 65 with a 'Tech Visit' and 2 weeks to complete. The ISP is Exetel, which is not so well known, but offers the best price-quota ratio (16+48 GB for $55 per month) and generous off-peak time (12am-12pm). It's not ADSL2+ but even ADSL 1.5mbps is way better than streamyx lol.

the tech infrastructure here aint that good yet on the backbone, so dont expect much till the new regulation by Rudd govt to say; lets fiber up Australia with fiber optic line. so yea hopefully happen & hopefully telstra be more competitive..

It's much easier to seek help from those official agents, like IDP and AusEd. They will help you apply and the fees will be waived during any education fair or the presence of a uni staff. Any university who is in Go8 should be ok. Just depends which city you wanna approach to. Sydney and Melbourne have higher cost of living while Perth and Adelaide will be lower. Melbourne is exceptionally not recommended, because you can't do a computer science degree by its own starting 2009.

Exceptionally disrecommended?

When you said a CS degree "on it's own" I suppose you were referring to the Bachelor of CS that will be discontinued in 2009. Can you tell us the difference between that and the Bachelor of Science (CS) that is earmarked to replace it?

No offense but I know the basic things.. I know I can get the information from their office or newspaper, but now I'm seeking for detail information that LYN fellows might have known since this is 'Studying in Australia' thread..

'Studying in Australia(v2), FAQ on First Page, come, ask & share !'

And it does stated clearly that I can come here to ask, while everyone can share their knowledge.. That's what I understand from the title of this thread.. Correct me if I'm wrong..

Anyway, thanx for guiding me to read the sticky thread wink.gif

Ouch, just a few days late.. They've just organized the education day.. Need to wait for incoming event.. doh.gif

Erm, do you mind if I ask when usually Australian university open their intake ? I might be applying for next year intake but don't know when is their intake.. As for UK, i know it'll be on September.. But don't know about Australia..

Well make it simple; when you go to those education agent; etc; they would also give you a idea what to do n to prepare yourself before you come. Its the same.
But us here; can hopefully assist our best in answering your question & share view or update any thing you wish to share. Its no harm; freedom of information.

Australia in general is Feb & July.
