I'm planning to visit Melbourne in this coming december. Just wondering whether anyone know or have a spare room for me to rent for a few nights, a week like that? Budget trip btw.

Fly to Melbourne from RM99

PETALING JAYA: AirAsia X has offered one-way fares from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne, Australia, from RM99.

Flights from Melbourne back to Kuala Lumpur will be priced from A$199 (RM577).

There will be four flights a week to Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine) with the first taking off on Nov 12.

Interested travellers can start booking their tickets online during the promotional period beginning today until Sunday for flights from Nov 12 to April 30.

The long-haul low-cost airline said in a statement that it was already planning to increase flights during the peak season from December to mid-January.

Chief executive officer Azran Osman-Rani said the new flights were the result of a collaborative effort between the Victoria state government, the airline and the industry.

Melbourne is the third Australian destination offered by AirAsia X, aside from Gold Coast and Perth.

The airline currently operates four weekly flights to Gold Coast and will be flying to Perth five times per week.

To book, visit www.airasia.com or mobile.airasia.com.

They start flying to Melbourne 10 days after they start the KL-Perth route. Maybe time to build that rail link from the airport to the city?

And yes, I am aware that KVReninem posted up there. biggrin.gif

which ISP are you using? i know students here mostly use TPG because they are cheap, but i found Exetel to be even cheaper when i look carefully, despite their high activation fee ($130), but since i'm sharing it with my housemate, it is not so expensive and in the long run it will surely be more economical than those which provide low start up fee but higher monthly charge, and unreasonable off-peak time (TPG off-peak = 4am-9am, even only for downloading does not sound good)

hey dude, you signed a 6 months contract right(that was the only option), i admit exetel is cheap for price/data ratios, but remember it's a budget ISP, if you don't make money or lose money for 'em you will have to look for some other ISP after 6 months.

Question 1: What do you intend to do with IT/Computer Science in the first place?
Question 2: What can you afford?

I think 'afford' means how much money you intend to spend on your studies. As different unis charge different tuition fees and the cost of living in different cities vary considerably, financial issues will be very important.

So programming eh?

3)Define "good".
4)What qualifications do you currently have?

With a statement like that, think again: do you think you are suited to university life in the first place?

Honestly, a list of all Australian uni's can be found on Wikipedia. And a sub-list of Go8 and ATN universities also. How about doing more research, find out which uni offers what, do your homework, then ask us.

Endnote: I am not being critical. I'm just amazed that people put their decision on where to go on complete strangers on the internet that may or may not exist. As I said from the start (literary. Look at page 2), I am happy to help people who come in and ask specific questions. But people who come in and ask "what uni got IT in Australia" just show their incompetency, and let's be honest, if you can't even do research on the NAMES of universities in Australia offering a particular course, what makes you think you can do academic research?
