You didnt put your ST in a container or Square Tray? I put mine inside a square tray, so they didnt run away. Best time for sunbath is from 9m -11am.

Added on March 11, 2008, 2:27 amI think its not too late for me to say condolance to you too. Sound like your ST having internal problem. Have you deworms your ST before? May i know how big is your ST? You can try salad, dont put any calsium or vitamins on it, let your ST have a original smell of it. I know, some of ST dont really like mustard green, even mine too. But they crazy with salad. Pumkin is good for natural dewormer.

my ST size average dlm 3 inch la.still kanak2 lg.i hav 4 of them..setiap kali hujan they must got RNS,even i let basking light ON.but when i force them to have sunbath,hingus kat hidung diorg will dissapear quickly..

Ur STs haf RNS everytime it rains? Thats weird..do u administer any medication? Coz i only have one incident with RNS but mine is severe till it became pneumonia and subsequently death. Whenever RNS accurs, got bubbles coming out from nose? U'll have to constantly sun them in natural sunlight if you wanna get rid of RNS plus give them multivites. U'll also need feedback from other ppl as i have lil experience with RNS.

wah, din know now got laws to ban certain sps of pet tortoise. I was keeping one. But i guess banning them when the demand is high for that species will actually motivate some people to start breeding them in captive, eventually making owing them legal again if enough is produced. This is good for the species and also for the pet lovers. Banning only trys to curb catching them in the wild, but like most people said, the wild itself ain't protected by other human activities like housing, development etc.

i already put them in container.but they become more aggresif when expose to sunlight.like want to climb up the container..

when they became aggresif..that's mean, its too hot for them...sumtimes they will poo a lot n pee too when too hot n try too find shelter...
u can go to natuaral aquatic ss19, pets lover center sunway pyramid.....they both got repti glo.....i recommend natural aquatic...bit cheaper then other pet shop(not all items)....

Err slackers, u shouldn't pm me info..lolz..u should post here so more ppl can help u..like i said, i have little experience as my Torts' RNS was a severe type which had blood coming out. One side of the lungs was filled with water.

About finding a Vet, you can check Dr. Yeoh at Tmn Megah. The address can be found at the pinned up section 'list of vets'. Med was injected into the torts because if i remember correctly, someone in v2 mentioned that torts wun open their mouth willingly or unwillingly so easily.

Off topic: I juz read finish v1 and v2..took me a while >.<

Edit: The best time to sun ur torts would be from around 8am till around 10am coz after 10am (i feel) tat its too hot especially for younger torts. Ur torts bout 3inch i think about 20 - 30 minutes is enuff d and should alwiz haf a place for them to be in the shade so that they can avoid the sun if its too hot already.

The temps are a bit too high or they dont need the heat since their body heat is enough aside from the UVB.

If its raining just open the basking light to maintain the humidity and increase the ambient temp.

Tomatoes should not be fed that frequently, i stopped feeding mine with tomatoes for like 1 year already.

Yeah. Natural Aquatic is good. I saw they got selling UVB bulbs there. Some more the price can less & bargain

ouh....this is my 1st time introducing tomatoes to them...then i better stop la.....
i want to find varieties of fruit/food that they like so i can feed them new fruit/food once a week.......any recommendation....?
i feed them mustard green every 5 days.....2 days i feed them carrot......exoterra tortoise pellet good ? i think want to introuced them to pellet pulak...

I feed my RES with Aquadene Turtle Pallet ... is it ok feeding RES with pallet more then kangkung? it seem my RES eat only little kangkung and sawi.

If i'm not wrong..sum1 posted be4 (most prob uzairi or Samperth) that pellets tend to make them grow faster than normal therefore shortening their lifespan and natural greens are the best. But let the pros confirm tat 4 ya..

can i keep my ST under uv light(UVA & UVB) all the time?except the the time that i put them under sunlight la..

put under uva & uvb for only 8-10 hours daily only.....direct sunlight around 30mins to 1 hour(3-4 times per week)

They are not recommended to be given any fruits because of the high level sugar content of the said fruits.

For me i only fed fruits to tropical species chelonians.
