Alfafa hay is not recommended for them imho, try timothy hay. 

wow, just a bit bigger than 50 cents, that's quite small. you need to pay extra attention to them as they are very prone to sickness at such a young age, and this may go on for years before you can breathe a sigh of relief.

the easiest food you can get is of course green mustard (sawi), and tortoise pellets where you can obtain with ease at aquarium shops. the brands, i think regular members have just posted in the last couple of pages, you may browse through that. there's a list in the first page as well if you want to have the complete list.

Chop up the mustard greens or any other veggies that you want to give them so that they won't choke on their food. Of course make sure you give them calcium and multivitamin supplements. For babies that small, i think it was mentioned be4 that the calcium supplement should be everyday or more frequent than adults. They should be given a variety of veggie and pumpkin like once an month like uzairi mentioned for de-worming. You should also read all the care sheets at the 1st post. Your baby STs are so small that it needs much more attention till u can make sure that they can survive. I only had a 50-50 chance for torts that small. Oh, and make sure u gif them have natural sun rays for vit D3.

i just coming back from irene.i go there with skatila.they still keep ST,but only show to anyone who really want to buy.and coincidently sumone want to buy it.so they take out the star.there are 3 of them.one of them female and quite big,about 7-8 inch i think.the price is 900..i dunno whether that guy already bought it or not..

Matamata:drool: ? How about their size? Last time i saw Irine sell common snapper 5 inches size for RM500... Wondering how much they selling their Matamata now... I saw 1 in Muar, size 4 inches. selling RM2988

Actually i dont mind to buy cacat ST as long not cracked shell. Last time i bought a male ST from Ipoh which have very2 serious piramiding & lack of calsium. The owner just feed that ST with Long Beans + Calsium Powder everyday... How sad ... No basking lamp ... but lucky that ST didnt kena RNS  . I bought from that guy RM888... kinda expensive hor... but i bought it becoz i wanna give that ST a good & better life even i know that St cant live for so long. After 6 months he with me, that ST died. But i feel happy becoz i took him out from the cruel owner & he had a better life ( even just for 6 months ) before he died. hi! i am back! haha... yesterday i went to zoo negara, nothing new after half years. leave only one elongated.  few asian brown tortoise. pond turtle, RES... nothing new. haha...

i think u must give them calcium everyday,+with real sunlight..dont forget Coscinium Plus,hak3.just joking...

u should go to sunway lagoon zoo....got lot of tortoise there....even 22 year old sulcata...u can touch him/her, feed him/her.... emys2...n lots more.....but u have to pandai cari that place....tortoise place a bit tersorok....

If a tortoise has soft shell.... sunning and normal calcium intake would be slow.... I dunno what progress would happen coz I had 1 star that was like that before, it died within a year.... I was feeding it calcium powder and sunning him too.

The right way to treat would be lots of sun, high calcium foods and also calcium injections.... must do weekly or something. This is a faster way to get the calcium absorbed into the body to harden the shell... vet told me this 5 years ago..... coz my star died 5 years ago.

Now my current 6 year old star is healthy with a very hard shell.

Mine was also small.... it was like 2 inches.... already you can know if it is having problem. Young stars have spongy shells, not soft shell.... soft shell is like.... erm... if you press the shell easily with slight force, it means soft.... spongy is not soft, is like still solid but like spring a bit....

Hard to explain, I can only show it LOL.
