If we were to mix some pellets as a diet to our star tortoise or radiated, actually which brand is recommended?

Also, to place them under sun, what time is good, and for how long per day? Require any shed to do so?

Hmmm... Will she be able to get over it? Because I can't wait for her to stop shrinking at the sight of me.

Maybe she really think I'll eat her.  laugh.gif

She's pretty much like a piece of rock in water... sweat.gif I think it's a snapper thing. So far no biting antics yet. Maybe too young.

smile.gif Everyone just calls her lui lui since we are quite sure it's female. Maybe it'll be her permanent name.
*
That's normal for an ally snapper, so dont worry. And the ally is still small so its hard to distinguish whether its male or female.

QUOTE(mamba @ Feb 22 2008, 06:31 PM)
hehe..later if confirm male it become bapuk already tongue.gif

but nevermind..bapuk ally still ganas.

can you please tell me where is the place? im thinking to add in 2 leopards for my collection... biggrin.gif thank you

Please a thorough reading of their caresheet before getting them because they are very easy to get RNS. Prepare necessary stuff before getting them.

sad.gif RIP. Let's hope she's in a better place. I used to have RES too, 1 male 1 female, both very active and with me till 3 years (then got stolen).

hmm.gif The condition of your female turtle was like the condition of my Star before she passed away. She used to sleep all day except during feeding time. After feeding time, she'll go straight to sleep. And she used to eat so very little... Almost like didn't eat. According to the vet who attempted to treat my star, when you keep 2 TTT together, there's a hierarchy of sorts. The stronger one gets the better portion of food and the better basking spot, the better everything, sometimes leaving the weaker one deprived of the basic necessities it needs.

Also, its weak condition means that it has some sort of sickness. My star had an infection of some sort because the place we bought her from was not very clean. But the male star from the same place and bought at the same time is still ok lar.

My RES had deep swimming water space and a large basking rock where they can choose to bask any time of the day as long and often as they like without fighting. I tried basking them when the time suits me but they don't like it... So I moved their tank outside, and they became outdoor turtles but their health was superb and was more active than being indoors. Any sight of a person used to drive them into swimming frenzy. My family used to call them "hungry ghost". biggrin.gif Since they both ate like hungry ghost, neither one of them was deprived. sweat.gif I used to watch over them eating to make sure of that. They can finish a lot of food in very little time...

cry.gif I miss them a lot and hope they're ok, wherever they're stolen to.

smile.gif I also wish you luck with your remaining RES.

RIP

however, i'd like to ask: how do you distinguish the sex between those turtles?

the pic from your earlier post shows 3 small sized turtles, no visible sexual dimorphism in specimens of that size.

That's what the seller said to me also when I got my RES. One of the gender's lower shell seems somewhat narrower than the other wan. ^^" Or maybe I'm just trying to see it a lot.

camillenoir is right, even at 4" size its still 50/50 as the growth rate might differ in captivity.

I have a question, my snapper is very small, like the picture i posted earlier. When I first bought her, she only eats 3 feeder fishes. After a while, she eats 5 fishes a day. Now she eats 5 fishes and still eats. Is it healthy to feed her so much? Should I let her eat as much as she can?

Dont worry because it is still small and growing, so eating a lot is normal. Your ally snapper chase the fish or wait the fish to come to its mouth and snap it ?

She usually waits and snaps the fish. When impatient, she will sometimes kinda lunge forward and snap the fish if it's close enough. ^^" But happens rarely. So I let her eat as much as she wants ar.
