want to ask.....are uvb light is for the torts to know its a day or night ?
because....i open my uva and uvb at nite only.......when i opened it.....
all my torts became active n starting moving around and eat everything on the food plate.
but when enough 8 hour...i off the light...they sleep till i open it back.......is tis natural or because of the light ?

it's because of the light. they become confused and think that it is daytime.

that's why it is best to imitate the actual photoperiod. use a timer. you can find cheap ones at carrefour. costs below RM15

welcome.

you obviously need a bigger housing for those turtles (not enough depth) and certainly a bigger basking spot (that bridge is tad too small).

thanks to all of you who have made me feel so welcome here, I'll get a bigger housing for those turtles soonest. want to ask you about water should I put 3-4 inches water for those turtles?

welcome!! frankly you ARE at home. most of us here nowadays only keep RES too.

RES are highly aquatic, so dont worry about the water being too deep. but as a precaution for hatchlings, make sure there is a basking spot for them to rest on.

you can just google the termla

basically photoperiod just means the length of time of exposure to light,
actual photoperiod means daytime la. so any 8 hours between dawn to dusk is ok.
i turn on mine from 9.30 to 5.30

ooo before this I just put little water for those turtles hehe then I read on first page that said should put enough water about 3-4 inches for them to swim. erk about food can give kangkung or sawi too eh? I just give them pallet for feed.

i just left irene and i must say i'm impressed with the collection they have for sale

Do u guys know that they have more tortoises upstairs?

I think they have 13 star tortoise around 3 inch for sale, few big star, few leopard, few redfoot, few radiata, 1 sulcata, 1 pancake, 1 elongated, 2 matamata, few other types of turtle that i dont know off

The stars they have upstairs looks healthty. They just polished then, so it all looked beautiful and clean

yep2...they juz opened upstair section....still new n kosong......but got lot of tortoise
when i was looking for star...i'm afraid to buy from them...many people told me...many animal in the shop not healthy oooo....
the last time i was there....their star mostly got RNS....larger star only healthier....but expensive laa~~~ tongue.gif

The upstairs is now full of aquariums for sale

They sell dogs, rabbits, hedgehog and hamster there too

Today from what I saw, the tortoises upstairs looks healthy and is quite beautiful. I think can buy gua

But the downstairs one doesn't look that healthy
