I have bought a SunGlo Daylight basking spotlamp, but it only provides UVA light. Meaning it unable to help in vit D synhesis?

I have seen solar glow sun simulating light which provide UVA , UVB light, Does it mean i need to change to this lamp?

If only 1 lamp is used, which type is the best? i have seen so many like daylight lamp etc..

One  of my Leo got RNS ago, sigh, i wonder whether it's gona heal by itself?  Or do i need to increase the duration of basking? It seems to have decreased activity n appetite.

I have read that worm infestation may also cause symptoms similar to RNS, any deworiming product available for the tortoise? Or any Vet that treat RNS ?

Btw, where can i get cuttlebone? Take from cuttlefish?

I'm not sure bout the increasing the basking duration but its better to leave them in the morning sun when its not too hot say 7-9am? was advised that last time. and pumpkin is said to be a natural dewormer. same for leos?

Hmm, I wouldn't consider to deworm any tortoise by myself.. Best to consult a vet. Pyrantel pamoate is a good dewormer. Dosage is 11mg/kg.

No species are hard if you know how to keep them !! Only the breeding part is slightly more tricky !!

Just that some sp are more demanding in term of living enclosure !!

If you want something easy to care for and easy to breed - You cant go pass 2 of our local sp
Indotestudo elongata - Elongated Tortoise
Manouria emys emys - Burmese Brown Tortoise

A few other sp from the tropics who love humidity
Geochelone carbonaria - Red-foot Tortoise
Geochelone denticulata - Yellow-foot Tortoise
Geochelone platynota - Burmese Star Tortoise

All the above recommanded by the other SAM who keeps them and bred from them before !!

Of course there are many more sp who are good / easy to keep / care for !!
