But allen, if you look at it this way.

PSP 3000. RM750, correct? After you completed the game, eventually you'll go and get one, which costs around.... say... 80 bucks? Adds up, costs around 830.

It may still look cheap, but somehow, the PSP 2000 still worths it. For one, you can play ahem games, costs around RM5 only.

And you might wanna shop around, go to Bernard's place. I got mine 840, 4GB high Speed (Filled with games, themes, etc etc) and it comes with 2DVDs that holds around 18-20 games.

Well, it still depends on how you look at stuff. I bought my first PSP1000 when the PSP2000 was originally announced. At that point, the price for PSP1000 is at a high as there is rumours saying how the PSP2000 cannot be hacked and must use UMD in order to play. So, i spent more instead of waiting for the new PSP for the reason as said by you, expensive UMD etc.

However, just barely 1 month after i grab the PSP1000, a CFW was officially announced for PSP2000 and the price started to drop way cheaper than the price i bought the PSP1000. In the end, i got myself another PSP2000 as well.

So in this case, my personal advice is to wait for the CFW to be announced for the PSP3000 (if you can wait for it) and if you feel the PSP3000 is a better device than the PSP2000. Else, then there is no choice but to pick up the PSP2000 now at a jacked up price.

Ehhh but now if you look at the 3000 model, in my opinion, the interlacing issue, you know, the scan lines, it makes me appreciate my 2000 even more.

if in long term, original UMD is really costly to buy, but for me i will buy psp 3000 first.. then wait until can crack ..hehe..
cause now psp 3000 is extremely damn cheap.. 750 with 1 free UMD only ...,

maybe half years later, psp 3000 can be crack, then i can confirm the price is more higher than RM 750, and i estimate is around 850~950, when that time buy, then is not worth jor..thats my opinion only..
i work at games shop 3 years already... last time the same situation goes to psp 2000

Hey,upgrades are developed by psp hackers who release it FOR FREE.So you can upgrade it ALL by yourself unless you own an official firmware psp unit as that'll require a Pandora's Battery to hack.If you BUY upgrades,i'd say it'll be totally unfair to psp developers who spend hours and hours in front of their monitor coding the entire custom firmware. They do the work for no payment, but others who do nothing, sell them. doh.gif

Well, thats one issue that needed to be considered. As in its a long term issue or can be solved in the later batches of PSP3000. Still, its still not worthy to purchase the PSP2000 at this point due to the price.

GPSP is a GBA emulator while masterboy is a GB/GBC emulator ( a very decent one indeed).Yes,rin GBC is for GB/GBC games only and no,i don't think GPSP is capable of running gbc games.

Note : There have been many cases of bricks upon upgrade,so it's up to you to take the risk.Otherwise,it's all good.

Requirements :
1)A phat/slim psp which has custom firmware 3.52m33-3 or any firmware above it.
*Minimum requirement is 3.52m33-3*

Guide

1) First of all,you need to set your kernel to 3.xx/4.xx.You can do so in recovery mode or in your VSH menu (if you have the VSH addon plugin installed)

**Recovery : Hold the off switch for 3-5 seconds, then HOLD R and boot your psp up.Now go to configuration, and click X at the "Game Folder Homebrew" option until it displays as 3.xx/4.xx kernel.Example : On a 3.52m33-3/4 psp,it should show as 3.52 kernel.

2) Download the 5.00M33 installer here

3) Download the 5.00 eboot.pbp here

4) Use your preferred software to extract the 5.00M33 rar file. You should now get two folders (UPDATE and Translate) as well as a readme.txt file.

5) Copy the UPDATE folder and paste it in ms0:/PSP/GAME.

** It should now look like this : ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/eboot.pbp **

6)Time,for the 5.00 eboot (step 2).

7) Copy the 500.PBP and paste it in your ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE directory.

** It should now look like this : ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/eboot.pbp and 500.pbp **

8) That's all, seriously. All you need to do now is to run the installer on your PSP.

** The installer will seem very official like, but don't worry, that's how it's supposed to be like **

9) Remember, once the update is over,PRESS X/O when it asks you to do so or your psp will brick!!

10) What else,enjoy!
