well
as we see it...
wherever u buy it from, u can play homebrew games

as long as it's a custom firmware.

homebrew is home made, self developed games.

Alright, homebrew applications/games/flashers/plugins are third party developments made by fellow psp users who have got a decent programming knowledge. (C,C++,Lua,SDL etc).

Homebrew can be played on custom firmware psps,1.50,1.00 and a few other firmwares using HEN,but these days, every psp user (in here) uses custom firmware.Custom firmware is actually the official firmware which is homebrew capable. This means you can enjoy EVERY feature that an official firmware user that can enjoy,as well as run homebrew and other cool stuff.

So now,if you get your psp from US (example),it for sure will have official firmware on it.You can only hack it using a Pandora's Battery which works on some mother boards (Not the newer v3 ones).

Hope that helps you,chernie.

3.90, 5.00 means version number

the addition of M33 indicates that it is a custom/modified firmware by people outside sony. M33-x usualy means the X-th revision of the firmware with minor patching

jfarm86,you can use CTF themes alongside your preferred background waves (System_plugin_bg.rco) as well as every other customizable rco including your 01-12.bmp.
