what does having multi monitor got to do with psu?

the only problem is with high rez,
the performance (meaning the smoothness) is affected

guys,i'm having a prob with my asus striker II 790i.i've already installed the latest gpu driver, latest 790i bios.when i insert my 2nd gtx 280,my pc does detect it.install etc no prob.restart pc,try playing GRID,so smooth.no prob at all.so i shutdown my pc.next morning,i turned my pc on.it starts but the lcd poster said CPU initializing.so i reset cmos, restart pc a few times (push the power button) then only can go into windows.i doubt my pc all ok.then try restart.the same thing happen.i've managed to reflashed my bios using the older bios 13xx if not mistaken instead of 1402.pc only okay for a couple of sessions then it starts making the same problem all over again.this only happens in SLI mode.if i only use single gpu (any of my gtx 280's),there isn't any problem at all.is it my 3rd pci-e 16x problem or what?pls help icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Hi all, have a query here: would my PSU (Cooler Master Silent Pro M 850W) provide enough juice for GTX285 SLI and GTS250 for physx?

How about GTX460 SLI + GTS250 for Physx?

Seems a lot of questions combined... Haha. Thanks in advance for the answer/advice. smile.gif

Or.. if the 850W isnt sufficient fro dual 285, well i guess just get another psu to power up just the GPU's.. (jumper mod)

Yes its possible to use another PSU to power up the card. Its easy to do it, just short the green wire on 20 or 24-pin power connector to the ground (black wire)

if doing like this, when the power source is turn on,
the graphic card will be power on first before whole system is power on.
and after shut down windows, the graphic card still power on.
like this will not cause any issue? unsure.gif

Now thats interesting! I thought i saw some review in our forum here somewhere.. i cant remember is it same model or not.. hmm.gif

Added on October 12, 2010, 2:03 pmBut looking at the specs:
http://www.techwarelabs.com/reviews/PowerS...w/index_2.shtml

At bottom, it stated +12V1 = 30A, +12V2 = 30A.. so meaning its not enough to juice up dual 480 which need a 42A each 12V rail is it?? But for 2x 460 or 2x 470 will do just fine...
