Based on reference, it's actually only 170 W. 2x make it 340 W but bear in mind those figures are for MAX power consumption. Actual gaming often don't reach that level.

sli newbie here...wanna ask ho to refine quad sli or quad crossfire? does it mean u take quad gfx cards and sli it together, or take 2 gtx 590 to sli...since it has dual gpu...2x590 got 4 gpu core=quad core=quad sli?

Depends on your motherboard. 2x590 = quad SLi on a dual slot PCi-e 16x mobo and any 4 card on a 4 slot PCi-e 16x mobo can also be called quad SLi

Do remember, Quad SLI doesn't works on gaming. No games that really can scale perfectly on Quad SLI ; so the FPS will drop. Overall performance are worst than Tri-SLI

the performance gain is there but the scaling is not perfect as u said but still the performance is there and Quad SLI does work on games

Cyrsis 2 will be exception then....

But most of games out there are not utilize Quad GPU.

The Tri-SLi result are same as Quad SLI result in most of games

i wonder if i use one gtx 295 or gtx 590...also can call sli? since 2 gpu there...just asking...
btw...sli option do depends on games...but how? does it means some games cannot fully utilize all the gpu? just wonder...

GTX295 and GTX590 can consider as SLI card. Because one card got 2 GPU inside.

SLI depent on games can support SLI or not...most of modern games do support SLi already...problem is you need to wait at least a month for newest driver to make it enable SLI to support that games.

My longest wait for SLI was Total War: Empire & Test Drive Unlimited 2 .....Waiting for newest driver for SLI it was 3 months
