If you can catch those insects alive better. Can see the FS hunt and kill the insects for food.
Dead insects also okla, can drop it infront of the FS. The FS will jump and bite it.

Male have longer arms, thinner back abdomen and have white face.
Female have shorter arms, fat abdomen and dark/black face.

You can try read the front few pages, mindstorm have post few pics of male and female bfr.
Or you can chk out FS videos in youtube. Lotsa FS fight videos there.

Hey Guys,

You guys still catch fighting spiders?? i used to have many of them back in the school days and now after reading this forum my passion has just struck me again. I'm hoping to join you guys for the next hunt. I'm from Damansara, to be honest i lost my touch with fighting spiders. Few things i might need to catch up again with you guys would be:

1) Care for the spiders
2) Catching the spiders
3) Comparing a good/strong spider from a bad/weak one

The Bukit Cahaya seems like a good place to have outdoor fun activities.

Nowdays everyday also rain sia... very difficult to hunt FS after rain coz most of the leaves also overlapping each other coz of rain water.

there is a few places where i used to catch fighting spiders in the jungle. Mostly in Wangsa Cheras, Taman Mudun, Taman Awana, Taman Cuepacs. All big jungle area with lots of banana plants, coconut trees and pandan leaves. Lots of spiders there, but lately im not sure la. Damansara Area got ah? 1 day we should road trip to Ulu Yam or Gombak jungle and go find la.

Viper, Bukit Cahaya sounds good, lets try that. I have tried Taman Tun, but the only area I found with lots of fs are the red leaf plants very near the parking lot. But......there are lots of ppl around, haha. I have walked the entire upper route, didnt find many, very scattered. I have yet to try FRIM in kepong tho, havent been there for a looong time. Most of my fiercest fs are caught from Kenny hills, and most are decent size. Its a pity i dont have a video cam, i have 5 avg size fs, and I cant determine their 'king' positions because they are so evenly matched so results keep changing. Tonight, 1 got injured badly, all are fierce, sad no video. Gonna let them rest for few days liao.

One thing I learned from past 2 days, i dont think its a good idea to feed fs water before fight. They become quite lethargic, but will still fight. It was like a slow motion fight, hmm. Lets meet up this weekend. Mind, viper, anil and myself, shall we? Say sat morning?

Saturday morning is abit hard for me.....but however im free the whole of Wednesday and Friday. Its my offday.

Nowdays everyday also rain.. morning, afternoon, evening and even at night.
Don't feel its a good time to hunt for FS during raining days.

Today till Fri i'm working till 12 midnite.. not free.

Chk with Mindstorm yesterday, he maybe free this Sat. Next Tues he's off.
Mindstorm suggest try search nearby my housing area lrt bushes along the big drain/river
Later maybe we can go Ampang housing area garden or Bukit Nanas forest reserve nearby place to chk.

If you guys free, can start go search for FS nearby ur housing area 1st..

After i feed the spider some light bulb insects.. now look quite big size. Bigger than average normal FS... when it jump can feel its landing impact also.. but definitely not as large size like Giant bu.

Pandan leaves, Spider lily plants, long leaves plant like banana leaves, wide leaves like daun keladi, short red/green bamboo leaves, daun nipah, palm oil leaves, etcs.....

You can try read the forum from start..got alot pics of type of leaves to find FS.

I also looking for best place to hunt FS... i feel those kampung area with lotsa leaves/bushes can get some good quality FS.

u guys can try bkt.gasing saw some kids catching fs there last month.

I usually dont go catch FS in places people has been recently, they may have disturbed and caused the FS to run away. Most of the nests might have been mucked with.

This morning no rain so went out to my housing area and try search for FS.
Normally afternoon or evening will rain.. so its better to hunt for FS nearby my housing area only..

Sholud have called me la....i was free today and wanted 2 go catch FS but i thought everybody was buzy so i just stayed home la.

Sorry la bro, i go hunt at my housing area .. walking/jogging distance only. I'm working evening shift, just go hunt for awhile only.
My housing area FS now quality so so only.. those good ones already gone coz most of my neighbour already trimmed their outdoor garden and chg to extra car park, etcs..

Nowdays always rain la... think not so suitable to go hunt fs at far place.

Hi Simone, tmr let's go for hunt. See whether Jong can make it too. All ur fs are fine except for Yishun. He was injured and experiencing slow recovery after having a tough fight with the fs vincent passed me. I am sorry about that.

Rain is getting better, seems like able to withstand chop soon. I will keep Yishun until he recovers, hopefully.
These few days weather is really unpredictable.

I've just got back from HK last night. weather in HK was fxxxking cold and argghhhh because of the weather I'm not able to get their male fs back The seller said most of his male fs died or on the verge of dying due to coldness. sian man... have to wait till next yr sept/oct again.
