I am suprised that this kind of activities still exist. I thought the hobby is extinct until I read this tread. Bravo, now at least I can prove to my son that we did this long time ago. Nowadays kids cannot enjoy this kind of hobbies. I still remember the days when the 'Flyingman' match stick boxes are used to house the FSes. Getting a metal tin was a luxury those days.LOL.
I still remember those days the FS with a red faced was the strongest one. Anyone meet any of those. We use to call it ' Hung Nga Yee ' and the worst and the biggest is the ' Pak Keok Ching ' the white legged ones.
Ha, ha, ha nice to reminicense about my schooling days. Thanks.

Wah, viper88, that thania subspecies you caught really looks good - iridescent green stripes. Don't mind keeping one of them.
For some reason never came across this subspecies in S'pore, although forested areas very similiar to M'sia.
Read in your recent post that you will be on holiday. Maybe you will be going up to Cameron or Genting to check out the FS there?
As kjinn said, the FS may tend to be bigger than average because cooler due to altitude
and mangrovejumper has come across the rare orange subspecies there.....
Here's a recap of our appearences after hunting at Ubin. The photo was taken with BTL's camera by the lovely spiderwoman!
At least some of these guys will be going to M'sia to bother our KL bros!!!

Glad you are back from HK. Too bad about the HK FS. Can try again next year!
Heavy rain in SG though. Bukit Timah flooded! Just went that area last weekend to recce, but no good FS spot.

Hey guys I need help urgent! My brother caught a brown fat spider about 1-2months ago and she laid eggs. The babies just hatched a few days ago and are now moving then suddenly the mom escapes. What should I do now? How do I house them? They are only about 1mm leg to leg and what should I feed? Thanks

Reason there - Offday
Venue type - Jungle
Plant type - FS Lily, Banana leaf, Palm Tree
Insects - heaps of mosquitoes!, fruit flies, giant ants.

Started off waking up in the morning with a huge hangover. Then straight went to look for FS near Flora Damansara. Been driving past a few weeks ago and noticed the jungle area and was thinking to myself that this place is gonna have heaps of FS. Guess i still havent lost my touch after all, this is the first time i've been back catching FS after atleast 7 years. This is the stuff that i managed to catch:

4 Males -- 2 Average Size and 2 Small Size young males (but very active and aggressive).
4 Females -- 3 Average size and 1 was with a nest.

Here are some of the pics of the FS that i caught today.

Yalo.. today oso heavy rain here in KL...

Saw the new videos adt rclxms.gif
Both are damn fierce fighters.

Keep these 2 FS well and can use as trainer/convert other normal FS. Don't spar with those very strong or fierce type FS to avoid getting killed/injured badly.
From my experiences, its better to spar them with normal FS few days apart to let the normal FS have time to neutralize the poison bite.
If spar too often might make the FS weaken and died due to strong poison.

If everything goes well, you guys in SG will have alot of fierce FS soon. icon_rolleyes.gif

Fierce sia.. Suppao do close range chop attack till flipped upside down itself, and was counter back with another flip from SupPao.
Its opponent flip back suppao and bite its arm?

I think theres about 3-4X both FS flipped!

If i can remember, this match is my Blue Pao (partial Chop) Vs Ah Seng Fighter.

I just release my Blue Pao yesterday. Now i am only left with 1 FS- Rain...
Yesterday was an Unlucky day for me, fall into a Mud Hole....lost a shoe and damn smelly and dirty and didn;t even catch any M size FS...lucky Ah Seng was with me during that time when i fall into the mud hole...he help me up.

Well, this teach me a lesson, not to be lone ranger..you never know what is out there....

met up with Simone, Vincent, Ah Seng & Gang last weekend.
We went Thomson to Hunt FS.
It was raining when we reached there, hence we decided to have our Lunch there.

After some chit chats, the rain stopped. Straight away, we started our hunts.
There were not much FS there, mostly small - medium sizes.
After few hours of searching, TaoKay finally caught a decent size male.
Wow the colour is very nice, dark blue. Size also nice !! biggrin.gif
it was Caught up the tree. rclxms.gif

Buaya, pls beware ... brows.gif

in the midst of hunting, we decided to spar our FS.
1 of the match lasted quite long, but we forget to film it.

Highlight came from this match.
Simone's Big FS VS my new FS(given by I forgotten who doh.gif )
its colour is light brown in colour.. close to Beige. Hence, I decided to name him HazelNut.

Bro, becareful next time, I remembered your legs got into a mud pool or drain once in jurong east. Esp those area with lots of bushy grasses, got to test the ground first before cheoning in. You only wif rain ar ? Nvm lar, this week long weekend, can go hunt fs for 3 days hehe.. sure can get another rain biggrin.gif

Wow bro, your that fs not bad leh, can win rain. Arghh my lancer lost to rain and I guess I got to buck up my hunting luck lor. Thinking of fri early morning go down to NTU with my wife heheh... dunno can find big fs in early morning or not tongue.gif

Hello FS bros!

Tues evening went with Simone & Ksiao to PA Thomson to try our luck.
Good to meet you at last Ksiao!!

Hoped to catch a big Fs but saw only small to medium ones.
Simone & Ksiao left at 5pm - Simone i think is flying to Delhi tmr.
I stayed behind to hunt some more. Later Vincent, Ah Or & Seng arrived.
Seng showed us his new L-size caught with Simone - Fearless. Wah! This guy is big.
Went to the place where he was caught, but no luck.

Around 6.30pm Seng kindly gave me a lift back. On the way we talked and counted - altogether the kakis have 13 FS in the L-size category!
13 !
Here's the breakdown:

Peter (aka Buaya) - 4
Seng - 3 (not counting Congo)
Ah Kim - 2
Jong - 2
Towkay - 1
Simone - 1
TOTAL = 13

I propose this Sat a fight of the big FS. Talked with Seng about it, but have to confirm.

Tentative venue : PA Thomson or NTU
Tentative time : 3-4pm

When confirmed I will sms all the bros........

Altogether i caught 4 male FS and 4 female, unfortunately i had to let 2 of the male and 2 of the female go cos they were too small. I kept the 2 strongest male that i caught and the rest was released in the garden at my office. This coming week im free from Thursday to Sunday....weeee...
