many ppl buy hamsters for a moment of fun.. but after tat they dun feel 'syiok' anymore, and it becomes a burden to take care of them.. i hope ppl out there realize tat hamsters are not toys or gadgets and will treat them with LOVE..

Frostfox, I am your mom's vocal student. She knows me as Rachel.

Good that the sapphire girl is still alive, just try not to repeat that mistake. I actually gave the syrians Loretta and Sinclair to your mom, because I really like the way she cares for her. Your mom tells me a lot with what she does and always checks with me about the care and diet. She even told me she doesn't know why she sometimes sits in front of Loretta's tank and just watches her. biggrin.gif

Loretta is also rare, she is a het silver grey, and you can't find that size easily. Loretta is about 6 and a half inches from nose to tail and Sinclair is bigger, they also have cobby bodies and dish like faces. They are the result of selective breeding. But I discontinued Loretta's line because her mother carried a disease that seemed to pass to certain individuals in the litter, its not fatal or anything serious, but it's not good to continue the line if you know or suspect it may pass to the future generations and Loretta showed signs of it.

No, it's impossible for me to not recognize my own prized syrians. Loretta and Sinclair are not young anymore and they have been with me for over a year. It was hard to make the decision to give them up, but Frost's mom put me to ease knowing they went to better homes, though I had no idea he was clueless about hamsters.

Robos can live for up to 4 years. They have the longest documented lifespan out of the domestic hamsters.

Buy some anti-ants medicine and put around the tanks. I tried it and now no more ants in all my tanks. You can buy the anti-ants med in powder form. Put in a small container and just leave it there.

How come you never show your Montee's picture to us?? unsure.gif unsure.gif We wanna see him leh. rclxms.gif

Frostfox should ask right since someone give your mom something and your mom pass it to you, won't you feel curious and wanna know where are the hamster from? On top of that Reanne already mentioned in the post before. If for me, I'll ask and say thank you, maybe I'm too curious unsure.gif unsure.gif

*excuse me... tumpang lalu...*

Reanne,

Can I quote the above in another thread?

Just want to share what a good breeder does when they detect a genetic/disease that can be passed on to future litter/s smile.gif

Thanks!

one of my hamster seems to keep food in his pouch for a very long time.. even the food, well i can say more than 3 days ago is inside his pouch.. just now i 'push' out the food from his pouch n OMG THE SMELL......... i washed my hands twice n the smell is still there.. can i train him not to do that? i'm scared there will be infection when the food 'becomes bad' is his pouch.. even now i'm still giddy from the smell.. smells like vomit..
