I got this phone 2 days ago. So, it's really new to me...

Today i accidently remove my battery without switching off the phone first (and i took out the sim card) after than when i put back everything... it seems that i cant dial when i am in the main interface...normally when i press the number key den the the numbers will come out and i can call by dialing manually.. but now wat key i press also doenst work... i only can do manual dial when i go into the phone function in the menu.... anyone experienced this before ? I did a master reset and it doenst help also....

No complain on the phone but the camera is a big dissapointment. The picture quality is either soft or blur.
My previous Nokia N70 (2MP) takes better picture. Very sure is not camera defect because I have compared it with my friend's P1i already.

Anyone has the same 'problem' here?

Will the latest firmware imporve the photo quality?

Once you all move the contact from SIM to phone contact, do you delete the SIM contact or leave it as it is and just read from phone contact?

Apparently on the P1i even you copy all to phone contact and view from it, when you switch off and on, P1i will still access the SIM. And during this start up, when you make a call with the Phone Contatc, you only able to see the phone nos and not the name until P1i complete reading your SIM Contact despite that you have copy all to phone contact.

Try this experiment. Send an SMS to your self before shutting down and don't view it. Then shut down and on again. Immediately made a call with your phone contact and see if you can see the name of the person? and also try to send sms to your self and see what happen. You prolly can't see the sender name or the person you calling and may not able to read that SMS.

I know many recommended not to switch off and all but I wonder if some of you detected this bug.

But if you waited for a few mins, you repeat the above and you can see all the name and the SMS again.

Mine have this bug and I suspect I'm not alone.

Anyhow I send it again today to service center as today I after I master reset, all my THEMES and RINGTONE GONE!!! Sign!

Firmware updates are just improving overall UI speed and photo taking processing time of the P1i. Blur and soft? Why don't you post your pics up here so we can have a look?

Normally pictures are blur because the photographer hands are shaky. There are techniques to hold the phone properly though (the P1i doesn't have a image stabilizer). Not sure if this is the case

Yes its on the latest firmware. The moment I sync it, this problem happen. It actually happen on the original FW when I bought and even after I updated the FW. With the updated FW, some how the original PC suite doesn't work any more. I downloaded the latest PC suite from SEUS to get it sync.

Apparently if I skip the contact Sync with my outlook its less of a problem. Anyhow it went back to the service center. I expect them to fix it good!

Also its got the same problem like one of the user here, even I'm on English language, the Folder on display for my email inbox is chinese character.

As for Ngou on Nokia 2MP better pictures, did you try to expand it to your PC/notebook desktop or just making comment on viewing it from phone? Try that first.

I was using the K800i and I say the P1i are very close behind. Infact the Macro Shot was so much better than Nokia 6500 Slide which also 3.2 that come with CZ lens! The picture does looks sharp on my phone display but not necessarily so when its on larger size compare to K800 or the P1i. Its very similar in range with the k800 edge out a bit!

The Nokia tend to over colorize on skin color rendering them either too fair or pucat despite best effort to get a different white balance.

Here is something I digged out of the net. He has also similar problems with Outlook sync. Hope it helps,I'm not personally a avid user of outlook



In the case of quality in P1i, its actually a very decent 3M camera. You can always edit with Photoshop to make it better

Do I need to go to do the "change to Singapore"? Since I'm already a Singapore fw...

Besides that, before update I need to backup my thing using the backup option.
Does that backup can put back into the phone after I flash to the lattest fw?
Wat does it backup? I mean doest it backup the calendar, phone's details etc?

I'm really new...

i noticed quite number of ppls wanna sell off their p1i in garage sales

mayb they jus doesn't use too it.

if you wanna keep the S'pore firmware, simply update through SEUS.
you will get the latest R6F41 Singapore APAC firmware.

about the backup, they can backup basically everything but there's no guaranteed that it can be fully success to be restored after a firmware upgrade (i encountered once that my calendar refuse to restore after a firmware upgrade)

How about the games or software that I installed? Will the backup put it back or I need to reinstall?

I don't really like the screensaver that I'm having now. Can I change it or it come with theme?
I'm using a Iphone theme, but is there anyway I can change the screensaver?

The problem is, that SIM contact is not ok after I do PC Suite sync with my Outlook for CONTACT. Otherwise its ok.

If its get into this trouble, I can get around it by MASTER RESET but in the process of MASTER RESET, I lost all the P1i original themes and sound files which are pre loaded from factory. Strangely the default melody is different for each notification, but when I want to chose it, I only have 1 sound file ie the SONY ERICSSON Tone, and thats it!.

So it is not ok after that, hence its back to the shop. Even they can't explain what happen....hopefully nothing major.

i sold off my p1i after 2 week used..so headchache especially with wifi connection...always fail ..even at starbuck or kfc also cannot connect..sigh..
now, get back 2 n series...
