QUOTE(siutimtim @ Mar 4 2008, 06:47 PM) what do u mean charge by day ? why not monthly ? I wanna ask if my bf have a gold card with credit RM5k but income less than 2.5k/month.. can still apply for other bank gold card ? I hear the agent say if you have gold they will give you gold no need to see income. ???? Provided that your gold card age is more than a year and it's a principal card.

Yes. The financial charge is compounded in daily basis even though they advertise the rate as p.a. (in yearly rate) or p.m (in monthly rate).
They'll start to charge you after the last date to make your payment in addition to the late payment fee unless you have made a minimum payment.

QUOTE(kindaichi @ Mar 4 2008, 10:20 PM) how abt HSBC, if i pay on the due date... will they charge any interest between the bill date and due date? No interest or financial charge should be charge between statement date and due date since that duration is called interest-free window time for you clear the oustading. If you count properly, it's actually 20 days.

QUOTE(kindaichi @ Mar 4 2008, 10:33 PM) yup, it is 20 days... my bill date is 3 mar, due date is 23 mar... so as long as i pay before 23 mar, no interest? and besides, can i change my credit card bill date? like i make my due date the beginning of each mth... No interest or financial charge. Regarding change of statement date or due date, you have to give a call to the CS.

QUOTE(kindaichi @ Mar 5 2008, 11:15 PM) what is the validity period for HSBC credit card reward points? 3 years. QUOTE Your points last 3 years! Perhaps best of all, you can accumulate your Reward Points for up to 3 years! Assuming you renew your account every 1st June, here's an example of how long your Reward Points will last.
Reward points earned in the period of 1 Jan 2005 - 31 Dec 2005 - Expiry Date: 31 Dec 2007* 1 Jan 2006 - 31 Dec 2006 - Expiry Date: 31 Dec 2008* 1 Jan 2007 - 31 Dec 2007 - Expiry Date: 31 Dec 2009*
And so on...
*Based on card opened month

QUOTE(Shinichi @ Mar 6 2008, 11:47 PM) Just found out that that Direct Access gold card salary requirement has gone down from 30k p.a. to 24k p.a. RM 24k p.a. is meant for those who are a member of those professional societies - IEM, Bar Council and bla bla. RM 30k p.a. is meant for those who got a degree certificate.

QUOTE(Shinichi @ Mar 7 2008, 08:10 AM) hmmm but wonder why it is not stated in the application form that I received from DA yesterday... This is something new to me. When I applied, there're such clauses. vin_ann can prove that. The name of professional institution is imprinted on his CIMB DA gold card.

QUOTE(vin_ann @ Mar 13 2008, 11:52 PM) do u really need higher limit??? For the mean time no but don't know in the future. A gold card is having the same limit as the classic card and the offered limit is so based on last year with old salary figure. My salary has been adjusted so how. Logically, I could ask for a limit review.

I called again and asked for the reason behind the reject. They said that my card is new and less than a year. Crap!
I can increase my credit limit for my HSBC last time even though the card is new (roughly 6 to 9 months old).

QUOTE(ronnie @ Mar 14 2008, 09:11 AM) Then just request for increase in credit limit after 1 year of usage. I think the banks need to see your spending habits before increasing your credit limit. Higher credit limits may lead to higher debt..so be careful Let it be unless I really need later. Being upset by them. They don't know how to please their customers. This is not my first dissatisfication with Maybank.
