i just got GT5P today, my first game .. tongue.gif

playing it on my Samsung 2253BW.

weirdly enough, when i'm displaying at 720p, the image gets cropped left and right.. didn't happen with any of the other demos i downloaded. the Grid demo received black bars top and bottom.

on the other hand, when i force it to display 1080p, the monitor complains that it's not the optimum reso but still displays it.. and the picture is perfect without any cropping!!

anybody with the same monitor experienced the same thing as me?

Its simply the case of the game(GT5P) being in an upscaled-native 1080p. While its original native resolution is 720p, the game is locked somehow in 1080p via upscaling from the PS3. Its weird.

Shouldn't affect the monitor in the long term, it simply is just displaying a non-native resolution thats all.

You'll need either a VGA box or video capture card for your PC (but this will mean having the PS2 go through your computer and then to the LCD).

A couple of VGA box options:

search.ebay.com.au/searc...A+box&category0=
> cgi.ebay.com.au/High-Res...Z1QQcmdZViewItem

www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4833
Try and find a VGA box that supports the native resolution of your monitor.

For those who are planning to get a benq fp241w/z, the 1:1 mapping isn't accurate as 1080p has black borders all around (top, down, left, right).

Now i'm not sure whether the problem is with the lcd or the console bcoz it works fine for the PC.

I'm gonna try it out on a dell fpw2407 2morrow..

ok the problem is with the benq's hdmi input.. medium quality n inaccurate mapping.. ur better off using the dvi input.. works perfectly fine..

erm most LCD TV also able to do that la (those that support 1080p signals)..

i have Dell 24" and its the best monitor i have at home..
but my samsung 32'' series 4 is easily surpasses in terms of image quality, color, etc..
resolution of coz 24" is full HD & samsung series 4 is 720p..
otherwise it is very much better

i think maybe ur sharp is older model?

Hi prazole, I'm using dell 24" monitor too (2407). How does the samsung compare against dell? Is using LCD TV better than LCD monitor?

Check and see if your LCD monitor has HDCP, if yes then you're good to go.

Maybe u can try searching previous post at this sub forum. If i'm not mistaken, u can try by resetting to factory default.

I'm using the exact same monitor as you.

Just ignore that message by simply pressing a button on the monitor, it's no biggy.
