Hi, I plan to get this model, Toshiba 42RV500E
This model is within my budget but I have no idea does it suitable for PS3. I have gone to those electronic shops to view this model. Is quite good but I do not know how does the performance if attach with PS3. Does here anyone using PS3 with this model? Mind to share some experience? |

I have a Panasonic 42" plasma (TH-42PV80HM). When I try connecting my PS3 using HDMI cable, I don't see the PS3 interface (desktop?) on any of the channels (AV2 to AV4 as well as HDMI1 to HDMI3). Screen all blank, no audio sound at all. AV1 is for my Pioneer DVD player. I already tried the 2 HDMI ports behind the TV and the third HDMI port in front.
However, if I use the AV cable, I can view the PS3 interface perfectly. Sound also got. Any clues as to why this is happening? Is it because the TV model does not support HDMI for gaming? PS: Is this the right thread for my question? This post has been edited by Dias: Mar 7 2009, 07:04 PM |

No such luck. Still getting blank screen. Display setting is set on HDMI. Already did the below.
01. Switched off TV 02. Power off and on PS3 (get red light on PS3, indicating system off mode) 03. Hold down power on button for few seconds till I hear 2 beeps (one when light become green and another beep while still holding down the power button) 04. Switch on TV I'm currently using the standard AV cable that came with PS3. Can I opt for a high quality AV cable (will need to hunt around for one) that can take over the function of the HDMI cable if I still can't rectify this issue? |

QUOTE(hyakushiki84 @ Nov 24 2008, 12:59 AM) ah well......too bad its not full hd...... The screen looks really nice and i want to get it mainly for playing ps3 on it, is it possible if you could post up a picture with the ps3 actually on the screen, that would be helpful.720p is at max though its just my dad, he doesnt really feel satisfied abt the benq brand....... most likely bcoz its not really well known to him he insist me to get HP instead bcoz of the well known brand bought it for RM1100 anyway, already posted my setup here |

Hey all, I haven't manage to read the whole thread (34 pages!) but I was wondering if someone could help me.
I'm planning to ship my PS3 back here but wasn't too sure if it was compatible with my Apple LCD -- it is a 20" and not HDCP complement -- thats okay because I don't need it to watch blu-ray movies. My question is, if I use a HDMI-DVI convertor and attach it to the the Apple LCD, will it scale the picture fine? 1680x1050 is the default (sharp) resolution. Will the picture have to scale up at 720p and will it be compatible or will there be jaggy lines? The other question is refresh rate -- will the apple lcd be able to keep up with the frequency of the PS3 game? There are no problems playing PC-games on the apple LCD. I'll have to buy a DVI-switch board to switch between my computer and the ps3 but that sure as heck beats buying a new TV. Thanks in advance. Because it doesn't support HDCP, you won't be able to play games either.

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Mar 10 2009, 02:23 PM) I thought HDCP complement monitors are just for blu-ray movies? Thats a headache if it doesn't work. Any other alternatives? Could I buy a hardware 'tv-tuner' for my computer and plug my PS3 into my computer which has a decoder? |

Its entirely for Blu-Ray, not only for movies. So that goes to games too.
If you get a TV-Tuner, you'll need to connect your PS3 to it via composite/s-video. Doing so, you won't even get 720p HD, quality will suffer way too much on an LCD. The same thing happens if you get a HDMI TV-Tuner with HD recording capabilities, you would be recording, but nothing would show up on screen. |

It just bought e2200D too.
it is awesome. Everything is so clear and colourful. A low budget option for those who want to enjoy the world of HD. The only complaint i can make of it, is the sound quality. well..hook up with a good speaker. |
