No such luck. Still getting blank screen. Display setting is set on HDMI. Already did the below.

01. Switched off TV
02. Power off and on PS3 (get red light on PS3, indicating system off mode)
03. Hold down power on button for few seconds till I hear 2 beeps (one when light become green and another beep while still holding down the power button)
04. Switch on TV

I'm currently using the standard AV cable that came with PS3. Can I opt for a high quality AV cable (will need to hunt around for one) that can take over the function of the HDMI cable if I still can't rectify this issue?

Get component cables will be another solution without HDMI
Can support up to 1080p

ANyway, I bought myself a 32" SHARP LC-32A33M HD ready TV for RM1599 at Harvey Norman
Satisfied with it although not really full HD, max output is 1080i smile.gif

MGS4 LOOKED SUPERB even with 1080i smile.gif
Waiting for my HDMI cable to arrive, currently on component cables

Bravia S 40' and Bravia V 40'. What's the difference?
*
They are 2 different series.
I have no idea which S and V model you are pointing to, but the main differences from S and V is that V is the higher end TV.

Full HD is supported all across the new V series, has better color accuracy as they use S-PVA panels instead of S-IPS(which is what the S uses). Dynamic contrast ratio are obviously higher, has more inputs, optical audio out and so on.

Personally, I'd suggest you just go for the Bravia V series if your budget allows it.
Try to steer clear away from the S, because at its own level, there are better competitors offerings like the Sharp AC42A33M and its also cheaper at the same time.

Which Harvey Norman did you go to?
I've searched for a few around and most of them are still selling the 32A3MM at RM1799.

Harvey Norman usually sell items at a very high price even if there is a discount.

I suggest to scout around other electronics shops before you buy at Harvey. smile.gif

Wow... awesome deal you got.

The AQUOS L-32A33M is one of the best, if not the best "budget"(or mainstream) LCD TV you can get now for under RM2k.
The colors are extremely vivid, sharp(hence the name, SHARP laugh.gif ), and doesn't have any sort of color bending. SHARP builds their own panels instead of sourcing them from Samsung or Hitachi, which what you get is original without any sort of modification to its panel.

While I do think the black levels on the 32A33M is slightly lacking to that of the LG30, it isn't such a big deal especially when you have some of the most vivid colors around on a non-Full HD 32 incher.

Probably the biggest trait for the 32A33M is that it is really built for gaming in its mind.
I have not seen or even encounter any sort of input lag on the TV(the Samsung 32A350 is a different story here), which is crucial for gaming. So no complaints on your input not registering if you get headshot in MGO.... brows.gif

Anyways, awesome TV you got at an awesome price!! Enjoy it. Full HD is not needed at all, even if you watch Blu-Ray movies. The sharpness of the 32A33M makes up for it.

Yea very true. Although sometimes they just have a sort of crazy deal that no others can match.

Shinjite is the lucky one this time.

Its decent at best.
Rather poor color accuracy though and theres certain backlight bleeding during dark scenes.
While Samsung has fixed their input lagging problem, theres still motion blur on extremely fast scenes(I saw it on DBZ: Burst Limit).

There are better alternatives.

32A53M is the same as the 32A33M, except the A53 has 100hz and ironically a worst speaker.

Wherter you like 100hz or not, that is up to your eyes.
Personally for me, I see motion blur when 100hz is enabled on gaming especially fast scenes. Though 100hz works remarkably well on movies however.

I do suggest you go and test it out first.
After all, 100hz may just look better to you when gaming.

Its really more of a personal oppinion, which is why 100hz is more like a gimmick than an actual feature.

Not mistaken, A33 and A53 prices aren't too far apart. About RM200-RM300 difference I think.

Well I got mine when Harvey Norman were doing some promotion and the sales girl promote it to me

The other RM1599 was the Samsung 32" LCD TV. I ended up with the SHARP instead, satisfied with it wholeheartedly XD

Luckily you did.

That other Samsung 32" LCD TV should most probably be the 32A350, a a crappy ass LCD. Other than its design, theres nothing to shout about on that TV.

I got my Panasonic VIERA TX-42LZ80M for RM3700.

I'm fully satisfied for it. It is full HD, 42" inch and play PS3 games at 1080p.

Well, at the moment its the current Bravia V 40' that retails for RM4999 that i've set my sights on...
Any other suggestions, i.e. something under RM5k?
