cheap and full HD support. A true HD support (16:9) http://benq.com/products/LCD/?product=1368 |

QUOTE(jebon 007 @ Feb 26 2009, 02:50 PM) Both are good, depends on your budget really. You could snag an E2200HD at RM600, while you could get a S2409W from RM700-RM750 in the bulk sales in the garage sales board. Personally, I'd still go with the E2200HD eventhough it doesn't has a deep of a black levels than the S2409W. However, one thing that absolutely wins me over to the BenQ camp is that the E2200HD has a superior resolution-scaler than the Dell. I watch alot of low-res movies, so it drastically helps. You may argue that for another RM100-RM150, you get a bigger screen... but seriously, I'd still sacrifice 2" for the smaller pixel-pitch that eliminates even more AA issues on PS3 games. |

QUOTE(noty_boy87 @ Mar 1 2009, 12:16 PM) What a suprise.. You are asking people who knows next to nothing about monitors.... why bother?Yesterday i go to the Sri Computer, asking about the Samsung 2233SW & 2333SW, they said that non of the samsung LCD have the Full HD... But now i check-in in the web, many people said it is Full HD... Macam mana ye?? Bujet aku bwh RM1k for buying the LCD whether Samsung or Benq.. You should have atleast went to those more personal shops like PCzone and Viewnet, those are experienced people there. Anyways, for under 1k you could snag off a BenQ E2200HD at RM610 at a few places in LYP. Problem with the E2200HD though is that its own dedicated color features which in theory should improve the image on screen, doesn't. Theres quite a bit of tuning needed to get the best out of the E2200HD, and even so it still lacks behind the Samsung 2233SW in colors. Black levels are ok, but nothing to shout about. While color vibrancy is a little bit better on the Samsung 2233SW, its problem is that it has a horrible scaler, the cheap-o-DCR trick that Samsuck has used for ages now, and it only has DVI. If it isn't for its price, which can be bought at RM550, I wouldn't even recommend this monitor in the first place. Alternatively, the Viewsonic VX2239W is also a rather good alternative. Only selling for RM530, lower even if you look hard enough. Has decent black levels, and rather good colors. Its resolution scaler is also reasonable. No problem, glad to be of help.
When it comes down to it all, choosing a monitor is alot like choosing a TV. What looks best on your eyes, is the best monitor that'll be. I can rant on about certain model on its perks, but if your eyes don't like it, theres no use to it either ways. So you should go around LYP, look up for some display models and see which is best suited for you. Tell them you're a graphics designer, and they'll give more attention to you All said and done though, all of these new 16:9 1080p 22"/24" LCD monitors are all using TN panels. You can only go so far on viewing angles, contrast and color accuracy as well as vibrancy. So theres a certain limit to it, don't compare them to S-PVA or S-IPS panels now. |

what's the cheapest one to get around here? I need to replace my monitor and might as well get one that works with PS3. I just need to look for a monitor with HDMI feature rite?

most important thing about LCD monitor is... play FPS game will not make u feel dizzy. take that into consideration. Acer, benq FULL HD will make u feel dizzy .
try DELL monitor. RM 999 . 22 inches . forgot the model number. it is 1050 p. almost FULL HD |

QUOTE(Scavengers @ Feb 13 2009, 09:01 AM) hurm..now i'm torned Both have the same static contrast ratio, which is all that matter.either getting s2409w with hdmi but low contrast ratio or 2333sw but price for 2333sw now is tempting tho Because Samsung's dynamic contrast ratio doesn't even work correctly in the first place, made to trick newbies into buying the "higher" contrasted monitor? Added on March 3, 2009, 3:40 pm QUOTE(john_makaay @ Mar 3 2009, 11:08 AM) most important thing about LCD monitor is... play FPS game will not make u feel dizzy. take that into consideration. Acer, benq FULL HD will make u feel dizzy . Doesn't work that way.try DELL monitor. RM 999 . 22 inches . forgot the model number. it is 1050 p. almost FULL HD The reason why the LCD makes you feel dizzy is mostly because of the refresh rate, your eyes aren't used to 75hz refresh rates. This applies to all monitors, doesn't mean that particular Acer or BenQ will make everyone dizzy. Nothing to do with the brand, more like with your eyes and the refresh rate of the monitor. That Dell you are talking about, 228WFP maybe? Bad choice, its a 16:10 aspect ratio monitor. Doesn't have 1:1 pixel mapping and 16:9 zoom in, images will be stretched. Even if it is a S-PVA panel, its on the older S-PVA technology. Input lag is noticeable and response times isn't really that good enough. Besides, why would you pay RM1k when you can buy RM300 less for the S2409W, a 24" LCD Full HD monitor? Sure its a TN panel and it comes no where close in matching the color accuracy of S-PVA panels, but I'd sacrifice that for no input lag. Thats the single most important thing in gaming.
