Just one question... if i run photoshop and Illustrator in macbook 2.2ghz in same time will it be hang?
I plan to buy MBP but looking at the price in Aus is too expensive... I'll be using mostly Adobe programs with some 3D program for my Uni next year scared Macbook cannot support the workload... =/ |

QUOTE(3ric @ Dec 31 2007, 12:45 AM) Just one question... if i run photoshop and Illustrator in macbook 2.2ghz in same time will it be hang? no problem dude. As long as you got the huge ram. Btw, usually i open 3 apps in my macbook, DRW, PS and AI cos i doing web-design. My macbook ram is 1.5Gb. So it is just minimum. So far so good, no problem. But if you open a bigger file then you probably can only open either one of those programs. I plan to buy MBP but looking at the price in Aus is too expensive... I have not test 3D applications in my macbook. I think no problem 1 la if the file size is not so big la. If you really into 3D animation or video editing, then mb is a no-no for you. Get macbook pro or mac pro QUOTE(ifer @ Dec 31 2007, 01:30 AM) i got my mbp mainly for photoshop only. i dont use illustrator wan. but i dont think you will have any problems with both softwares... 4GB RAM is the way to go This post has been edited by allvin: Dec 31 2007, 12:05 PM |

allvin,
Let me explain to you this way. "John" drives a Merc S Class to work everyday. In fact, he only lives 3km away and barely travels. Why does he the S Class? He's no gonna need the more powerful engine. He is married too. Why not just a C class? Well, quite simply because he can afford it. Life like that... =) |

You would probably need the external drive if you work with a lot of images.
As for the notebook cooler, you can pick it up later. Have you tried education discount? You might want to find out if your uni is giving any discounts for Macs. |

Yup RMIT does have uni discount, MBP is A$ 2,599.00 for 2.2 ghz and A$ 3,299.00 for 2,4 ghz.As for the notebook cooler, you can pick it up later. Have you tried education discount? You might want to find out if your uni is giving any discounts for Macs. as for macbook A$ 1,749.00 for 2.2 ghz white and A$ 2,049.00 for black color.. I know i should get MBP but if i can survive with Macbook wih 4gb ram, save some money till i can afford myself to buy the MBP in future.. |

actually after i bought this mbp. I found that if i have the money to go for a macpro or imac. i would really love to. because the ram issue is something common. but if you are like me, working with large files. Ram is not going to save your days. The extra internal hard disk will seriously speed up your work, by alot. I have experienced how much difference when the scratch disk is set to internal hard disk that is not your boot drive.
So sad mbp only offers one hard disk. i would rather it offers me two hard disk and i can always buy an external dvd-rom. for photographer, mbp is something you must not overlook. even Aperture needs the extra push that mbp can offer. The RAW files that are generated that you need to import inside Aperture is no kidding. You may just stare at how slow it is, just for one RAW files to go into other format that is ok with your situation. |
