QUOTE(joey70i @ Dec 19 2007, 03:06 PM) Thanks.....yes I still need to run some windows prog from time to time... Do graphic stuff such as 3D? If it is a yes, then you have made the right choice. If you do heavy CGI, I suggest the mid-range or higher end ones. Depends on your budget. If it is not-so-heavy CGI, the low end one is more than enough already.Added on December 19, 2007, 3:12 pmSince I sometimes do graphic stuff and was considering the macbook pro and since now can run dual os so much the better......but can it run all the windows prog? About the OS, it is like you are having Vista on the Macbook Pro. It means you can treat it like a PC thus it can run all of the Windows program. Afterall, really want Vista? Why not XP? Afterall, if you want to run Windows and Mac OS X at the same time, you need a virtualization software such as Desktop Parellels or VMware Fusion. The Boot Camp is mean you can use one OS (neither Windows or Mac) at the same time, not multiple unless you are running Mac OS X with virtualization software. |

QUOTE(3ric @ Dec 19 2007, 11:37 PM) yea.. here you go --> http://www.newtek.com/news/releases/08-01-06f.htmlBtw, it got both version (windows and mac) for quite a long time lo. The 3D application only for windows is 3Ds Max, and interior design application which is autocad. You still have to use windows for those applications |

QUOTE(allvin @ Dec 19 2007, 05:42 PM) well, you just ask yourself this simple question. That's another conderation since I do play games and its one of the reason why I'm goin for MBP as the graphic card is quite good. I have got my console for games most of the time, its more towards when I am travelling. "Do you play games (those high end games If you don't, then just choose the lower end version. Save few thousand and use few hundred to max up the ram I dont do heavy CGI but use mostly stuff like Vector Works (ie drawing prog). |

@rx330,
We are comparing specs and functionality, not looks! And what's wrong with the MBP?! *getting defensive* @joey70i, If ur getting it for the purpose of travelling, u should ask urself if u need a 15" screen. The difference in weight may not seem to be much but in the long term, it's quite a hassle to be lugging something this heavy out. It's worst for the 17" - not advisable. |

Btw, when in gaming, then you have to use windows (xp or vista, either way will do)I dont do heavy CGI but use mostly stuff like Vector Works (ie drawing prog). QUOTE(rx330 @ Dec 21 2007, 09:05 AM) |

As for size, not really matter but the 17' is really a bit too big coz my current laptop is 15' and as for weight, i thing my current one is heavier.
I am not into serious shooter gaming kind but more of the Warcraft type gaming. |

Get the mid-range MBP like what others said. I am not into serious shooter gaming kind but more of the Warcraft type gaming. By the way, I love the 17". It is just me. |

I am totally against the idea of getting either a PC or a Mac for gaming. Getting a PC to play games is expensive, getting a Mac to play games is even MORE expensive.
Save some money to get a MacBook, use the extra money to buy a console. RM 1500 xbox360 or Wii to play "Try-before-you-buy" games, cost you no more than RM 8. Purely my 2 cents worth. |

I always thought the MBPs are light due to its aluminum casing. After comparing my MB and my friend's MBP, the weight of both doesn't differ much.
