Seems like they decided to discontinue the old card development, focus on BigPay thereafter.

I have both cards. Hope they can be consolidated into a single card/account.
The old one can be top-up by online banking only.
The new one can be top-up by credit card only.

To avoid the monthly inactive fee RM2.50, I spend RM1 on electricity when I don't spend on AirAsia on that particular month.

But BigPay do a good security is that you can freeze ur card online. Once u notice you lost ur card then straight away freeze the card. And the transaction is show in live time as well in the app

it is calculate every 30 days and no really every month to charge for inactive fee.

Example, u use card on 1 feb 2018 and 30 mar 2018.

U will be charge for inactive fee cos it calculate from 01 feb 2018 and no transaction for more than 30 days from 01 feb 2018 and it will charge u inactive fee

Use bigpay option to pay airasia tickets at airasia app, it showed processing fee.

Change to debit card, it recognize as big prepaid and waived the processing fee. Anyone face this?

I know, what I am trying to highlight here is, CVV doesn't matter for in-presence transaction.

But if cashiers take a snapshot of your card, with cvv they can use it online, no?
And becos it is a debit card harder to get back the payment, no?

for ONLINE transaction, they need your phone to verify OTP still mah.
of course there are some sites that skip the OTP, but the risk would be the same for credit card and debit card. So there is no special distinct benefit of scrapping off the CVV from Bigpay vs any other credit/debit card.

there is pro and con,

some body cannot control to swipe, so better have debit card. only can swipe with money in account only and also if card loss, only the money in the account can be swipe. so, better no keep so many money in account with debit card.

Jompay is tied to banks where some banks allow their own bank cards to transact in Jompay.
BigPay doesn't belong to any bank, so no.
