Essentially, if you pay within the entire AirAsia eco-system with BigPay... It really becomes something else. BIG Loyalty has deals with tons of lifestyle and travel related merchants: https://www.airasiabig.com/my/en/earn-redee...style#ecommerce

If you shop using their direct link, you'll earn points. Pay with BigPay, earn even more points. Stuff like that. I had started mapping out a customer journey within the AirAsia eco-system with and without BigPay, and the difference is huge in terms of BIG Points!

some people do not like to owe. so they use prepaid credit cards to better control their expenditure. with a maximum load limit of rm 10,000 at any time, it helps you to set a budget for your spending. i think this is a very practical product.

That is illogical...
If u can control your spending then that is not a problem.

If based on that point, there's no difference between using cash and prepaid card, just that prepaid card can use for internet usage.

Yes, basically it is illogical, but in reality, there are plenty of people can't control their spending, just swipe the cc whenever they bought and don't do budgeting, only statement come in the end of the month time, only realise, overspend.

Also another good feature in debit card, you can control the card limit based on the amount in the account. CC always set a certain limit say 10K or 5K, but for debit card if you want to set the limit at 1K then you just have to do is bank in only 1K into the debit card account.

But debit card won't be popular or overtake CC in near future, as it is a bit hassle to bank in amount each time you want to spend.
Still CC is much more convenient than debit card. But it doesn't mean debit card won't have their market too, it is good for those above mentioned people.

Just my 2 cents.

Wacky, honestly, i did not understand what you are trying on above statement. rm 2 per top up, to me, is not cheap. minimun 2 swipes a year, is not a problem to me as i ue credit card to pay for gasoline.

Personally, this tunecard is especially design for consumers which is not eligible for a credit card. well, i believe majority users of this service are not rich, which top up more than 1000 everytime is not an easy task. so, they might top up few hundreds ringgit everytime (assumption), without considering the rm 2 service charge.

That is why i said, since we wory too much, expensive service charge and beyond control spending habit, why not opts for Debit card instead, which i believe many banks do that ( public bank, hong leong bank, as far as i know ).

I know simple maths, but not an expert physician.

Thanks

regarding the RM2, if u dont have an account with the issuing bank, you'll be doing interbank bank transfer to pay up, which incidently is RM2 per transaction.

wacky, nothing wrong with credit card. Juz the attitude towards cc as a ticket to buy anything under the sun as well as the attitude 'hey i cant afford it now, but no worries i got cc' or 'ah, with cc i only need to pay minimum only ma every month' tats wrong. Plus warren buffet doesnt need to use credit card la... he can always buy over the bank that issues credit card. smile.gif He was emphasizing on the danger of credit card if not handled well.

one thing about the card, when u reload at respective reload agents (Pos Malaysia, CIMB, BSN), it needs at least one business day to succesfully topup your prepaid card... it means u cant use it immidiately unless u have sufficient amount....

i think cash deposit machine of CIMB also cant be used to topup...only over the counter transaction....banyak leceh la...

if only they can improve their topup system, like can topup over cash deposit machine of CIMB & it the transaction accept immidiately, or can use CIMB ATM topup via CIMB saving account, then i'll subscribe to the card....
