frankly speaking i'm modding with only a pencil in hand , no DMM or whatsoever...

lols, maybe the vcore now is 2.0V

don't know but now the idle temp (at this moment) @56°C~58°C with 65% fan speed, load (Crysis for example) up to 80°C with same 65% fan speed...

on unmodded before, load temp was 61°C with idle 35°C @300MHz core, well actually even VMODded, the idle clock will sets back to 300MHz, just that i'm just finished my game session

eehh .. need some help here .. i just got my ASUS 3870 TOP with glaciator fan .. install everything .. drivers etc etc

tried running 3Dmark06 .. it shows the logo and keeps loading and loading .. just cannot load .. any ideas why ??

previously using 8800gt top .. no probs running the 3dmark .. after putting in the 3870 .. 3dmark06 just wont move/load ..

one more thing .. gpuz shows core 850 .. but everest shows my core as 279 ????? WTF ????? any ideas why guys ??

another prob i am facing oso .. just tried CRYSIS with high settings all round and 4AA .. game keeps crashing .. dunno why

earlier when i was using 8800gt .. i kept the PCIE bus locked at 100 instead of at AUTO .. any difference if i do so ahh ??

Added on March 15, 2008, 2:38 pmi reinstalled the drivers that came with card .. somehow i dunno why .. 3dmark06 worked this time .. and i oso left the PCIE bus to AUTO in BIOS

will try crysis again and see what happens ..

running catalyst 8.3 downloaded from ati site

tried running 3dmark06 ... frame rates can jump from over 120 to 20 in 2-3 secs ... normal ahh ??? and 3dmark06 scored only 10k+ ... WTF ????

high suspect are the drivers laa .. i plugged in both the 6 and 8 pin connectors using their respective sockets ... using ACBEL 800w

tried playing crysis with high levels and 8AA ... no probs running oso .. no hang or anything .. quite smooth too all movements .. details no need to say OF COZ super chun la .. hahahahaaa

most prolly be back onto ATi in a few months time once the drivers stabilised .. hehehehe

ya .. i know its not normal .. i think the drivers are all screwed up at the time being for certain OC versions of the 3870 ..
for the time being .. i had gotten another 8800gt top and using it without probs laa so far ..
wait another 3 months or so then maybe jump back onto the ATi wagon .. hopefully by then the 3870 or X2 would have dropped more in price .. hahaahahaa
have X2 in mind but the card covers 4 of my 6 SATA ports .. so that will have to get L connectors as well if going the X2 way

i just wonder 2x 3870 CF or 3870x2 is better?

older batch of d x2 used 8x link, so if cf 3870 on both x16 lane boards, theoretically d latter should be faster imo.

ic.. that means currently 3870cf @ 2x 8x pci-e lanes has same performance wih 3870x2..

but 3870x2 has advantage if user wanna go more than dual core .. cfx.

most of d review doesn't compared clock to clock, so they mite be bias. do note that there are diff in core clock & mem speed for both, some more 3870cf is of dd4, d x2 uses ddr3 only. unless there are users with both 3870 x2 and 2 x 3870 do comparison clock to clock w/ same bandwidth as well (cf @ 8x), else it's kinda hard to judge which is faster.

I saw somewhere given link by a forummer, 3870x2 run slightly faster than crossfire 3870. And using 3870x2 gets more advantage due to less heat and power consumption. I guess so

this is the best latest review that i could found...thx to sniper actually....focus on this 2 card; ASUS EAH3870 X2-1GB n AMD 3870 Crossfire......in 3dmark u can see the x2 slightly better than the xfire...but in game performance show the different although the conclusion recommended x2...the xfire do much better actually in HD....

duno whether my p35 mobo P5K3 Deluxe good for running 3870 cf or not

i ran 3870 cf on my p35t dq6 and the score is not as good as running cf on x38 dq6.. the difference is around 500 points in 3dmark06.. not sure how big is the difference in real gaming..
