does flashing 3870 hotfix bios improve any in game performance?

Hi All,

I tried to overclock my Sapphire 3870. One problem that I meet, I set 860 for core clock in Rivatuner. It only show 850. When I set the core clock to 850 and it show 840.

Samething happens to flashing Bios, I set 860 and it only show 850.

Do you guys know what is wrong?

i think it's rivatuner problem.
mine set at 1012mhz, but the hardware monitoring and gpuz showing 999mhz.

err i dont think so
its the driver playing much important role, IMO

But then, i flashing bios with more clock, it still happens as set 860 and it only show 850. Why?

Plan to buy HD3870 but confius, can my Acbel iPower 450W handle this GC well?

u can use winflash or atiflash

oredi used winflash still cannot.....

your psu is fine with 3870.

My initial test using HD3850 512mb ddr3 X-fire with HD3870 512mb ddr4
3850 in PCI-E X16 slot & 3870 in PCI-E X4 on my Foxconn Mars
Default clock for both card

I'm using Gigabyte P35-DS3 Rev. 1.0, juz support PCIE 16X v1.0..
Any performance penalty if using HD3870?

any1 here using asus3870 top edition? want to flash my bios 2 top
edition.... but cant find d bios... perhaps sm1 so generous cud let me hv d bios.....

i'm using ASUS 3870X2 (non-TOP) for the past 2 weeks.

anyway the OCing is pretty much useless. very limited.

seriously dont see the point of overclocking this card..
its already damn fast.
