g0od jobs bro

but still the 3870 CF score kinda lower i believe compared to 2900xt CF which can get 20k score of 3dmark smile.gif
ps: i thought the 2900xt default memory was 2Ghz aite?
*
that for 1gb ddr4 version biggrin.gif

QUOTE(clayclws @ Dec 2 2007, 11:41 AM)
It's because of the motherboard. The P35T-DQ6 does not offer dual 16x PCI-Ex 2.0...Maybe should replace motherboard with X38 or X48, when there's enough resources for that.

Added on December 2, 2007, 11:43 amAnyone up for setting Dual HD3850 512MB CF-X? I surely want to see the results as HD3850 512MB seems to be the card that offers the best bang for the buck at the moment.
*
erm yeah.. regarding to cstkl it's bcoz of my mobo.. btw i already have x38.. but i dun have good ram to make it a fair comparison... i'm waiting for ddr3 board coming to m'sia.. x48 perhaps rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(arjuna_mfna @ Dec 2 2007, 12:09 PM)
good score, bro any comment while playing games? how the fps? if wanna compare to 8800gt sli
*
i havent got chance too test this cf with games yet.. so many commitment.. but i still cant compare with 8800gt SLI, coz never try them.. the best is only to compare it with 8800gt single..

maybe others who has try 8800gt SLI can contribute ur result here thumbup.gif

i've just tried crysis and when i asked it to set the graphic to optimal setting, it just detect it as medium spec..
so to make it comparable with my previous 8800gt, where i used high settings, i manually adjust all the settings to high, 1920x1200 and no AA.

specs:

Q6600 @ 3.2ghz (400x8)
hyperX ddr3 @ 1333 cl7
p35t dq6
3870cf @ default
xp sp2

Q6600 @ 3.2ghz (400x8)
hyperX ddr3 @ 1333 cl7
p35t dq6
Single 8800gt OC @ 700/1750/1800
xp sp2

using fraps to monitor,

avg fps for 8800gt is 26 while 3870 CF is 41..
lowest fps, i notice 8800gt only drop to 23 while 3870 CF drops to 33 (almost 20% performance drop compare to 8800gt 12% ) ..
highest fps 8800gt 31 and 3870 CF is 46

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Dec 2 2007, 08:20 PM)
this is such a silly statement.

one that is an impressive result
second nvidia game without a mature driver for sli??...

anyways this is a overclocking thread dudes..
not a discussion about HD3870 vs 8800gt.
or even the performance
this is what i can tell u about the bios

using the stock bios.. even though u cant go more than 862.. but it was gaming stable 862/2500 easy.

with the new bios that overcomes the pll divider... the mem u can overclock so much and very buggy with CF.
*
erm do u mean its better if we dont flash it using the new bios?

QUOTE(rlhc17 @ Dec 2 2007, 09:07 PM)
Sapphire 3870 new bios :

1. fixed the 862MHz limit.
2. fixed bugs of the fan speed from always 25%-25% to 35%-50%.

The latest 3dMark06 world record still using HD2900XT.
*
so? unsure.gif

1st.. look at the price.. 2900xt 1gb @ 1700 or 2900xt 512mb @ 1300 vs 3870 @ 850..

2nd, i dun think many top ocer are using 3870 currently.. i dunno why, but it's true.. i looked at xs and only few using it... maybe it's not hardcore enuff haha

i think it's hard to find review on CFX yet due to lack of driver..

but i believe AMD are working hard on it and maybe we can see a proper review once phenom and CFX mobos flood the market biggrin.gif

3850 is a very value card.. even 2 of 3850 can achieve almost as good performance as a single high end card in certain area..

ic.. that means currently 3870cf @ 2x 8x pci-e lanes has same performance wih 3870x2..

but 3870x2 has advantage if user wanna go more than dual core .. cfx.

i ran 3870 cf on my p35t dq6 and the score is not as good as running cf on x38 dq6.. the difference is around 500 points in 3dmark06.. not sure how big is the difference in real gaming..
