if everyone gets 20% annual increment, then a normal person with a degree retiring today should earn about RM80000 per month.

Based on entry level salary RM500 (my dad's first salary as accountant).

He ended up making a top salary of RM10k about 10 years ago when the economy was good. Just prior to retirement last year he was making RM5000 (changed job from accounting to IT).

The managing director of my MNC in M'sia local site is making RM50000/month, he is 51 and had an entry salary of RM800. This is the highest performer in a company for his ENTIRE CAREER.Considering my company had from 100 at start to 2000 ppl today, he is the best 1% or 0.05% of the population.

Based on my entry salary of RM2.7k, I would be making Rm534000 / month just before I retire, in 2034 if I have 20% increment / annum. Fingers crossed I know what to tell my boss this end year's performance review lol.

Stop the foolish comments la. 20% increment is sustainable only for the first few years of your career if you are the 95% of the population.

totally agree with u on that

my annual increment is RM200 per yr, have promoted before..but salary adjustment is only RM300...

better dont wan get promote....responsibility higher with lesser pay  sad.gif

adjustment is still depend each company policy.

RM300 is your company policy ... at least it is higher then normal increment.

if you don't want get promote, you wont have any career advancement and your paid will be stuck at 1 level even you reach 50 years old and only depend the yearly increment.

The normally 10-20% increment are applicable when you move to new Co. As normally Co. only give increment 2-8%. Only if you very lucky can get 10%.

Last year my Co. no increment & no bonus. Even if have only about RM50-100 increase, which are 2-5%.

Since yu are a fresh meat in the market, I suggest yu work for at least 1 year if yu are okie with the company. Absorb as much as possible and if there's an opportunity elsewhere, go for it.

6 months probationary period? Hmmm...

6 months is a norm, i suppose. Ranging from government sectors & big companies.

Simple solution: Search for a new job. Tender resignation once yu found and confirm yu got a new job. Please take note on the resignation serving period too.

Regards, Joey

If you don't satisfy to the current job, just get a new job, then resign.
