Smaller company would be a better place for you to gain experience.
I'm working in a pretty big company...
my work scope is too limited, so gain too little experience.
1st one would be better cos u need not travel that much as u say the 2nd one is far from the place u stay..

increment for 2% in the space of 2 months is ok ma..
if for 3 years increase 2% then it's a rip off...
must be justified as well....

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Jul 21 2009, 01:57 PM)
if everyone gets 20% annual increment, then a normal person with a degree retiring today should earn about RM80000 per month.

Based on entry level salary RM500 (my dad's first salary as accountant).

He ended up making a top salary of RM10k about 10 years ago when the economy was good. Just prior to retirement last year he was making RM5000 (changed job from accounting to IT).

The managing director of my MNC in M'sia local site is making RM50000/month, he is 51 and had an entry salary of RM800. This is the highest performer in a company for his ENTIRE CAREER.Considering my company had from 100 at start to 2000 ppl today, he is the best 1% or 0.05% of the population.

Based on my entry salary of RM2.7k, I would be making Rm534000 / month just before I retire, in 2034 if I have 20% increment / annum. Fingers crossed I know what to tell my boss this end year's performance review lol.

Stop the foolish comments la. 20% increment is sustainable only for the first few years of your career if you are the 95% of the population.
*
totally agree with u on that

Job Desciption : Doin commisionin, PMC n others

Company : quite good chinaman type of co
Industry : mold injection
Tenure : permanent
Employment Level : i think exec
Experience before joining : freshman
salary : (probation 6 months, mayb less coz co need ppl in jb urgently) RM 2k,
(confirmation) RM 2.2k + co car (truck la 2 b exact) + co apartment (SOHO based in jb) + co hp + hp Al + poor medical Al (1k medi claim/yr) + OT + outstation Al=RM50, oversea Al=RM100 (Sg Al is oni rm100 nia, grrrr) bond 3 yrs summore, coz training in Germany fr 2 weeks (nia!!)
hws it? some of my fren say i picked up gold... some say i may get a better deal. so far dis s d best 1 i get. any idea?
*
1k medical per year is poor?
then how's 950 inclusive of dental?

but i think the rate for engineer in JB is higher
a factory in Pasir Gudang once called me like 2 months back n offered 2.6k for Industrial Engineer position (fresh)
so salary wise i think it's a bit low
but there's a bit of allowance there that should be considered
depending on individuals, could be considered GOLD, but not for me

Guys, I have a question here. What's the typical salary range for the management/graduate trainee position in an engineering firm?
*
what's the job scope?
admin?
engineering firm doing what?
need to know ur degree as well
think engineering firm would require u to have a diploma in engineering
probably 1.8k if u have a diploma
2k above for degree
my guessing, it depends on company n location as well

i tried that, they offer 1.8k as well...
but i only managed to bargain it to 2.5k
but it's definitely negotiable depending on how to deal with it
