any fresh grad or worxk exp < 1 year wanna work as unix/storage engineer with MNC company? starting salary for fresh grad rm2600 with 2 months contractual bonus..

2600 for fresh grade consider not bad rite?

6K++ is quite good pay I think. But of course if got better pasture, go for it. Else, no worries.

skills : Java, JSP, servlets, html, SQL. no fancy framework experience as company using plain old jsp servlets applications.

salary : 2.5k (even tech support like my friend can earn more than me at 3k )


would like to ask, how's my salary? under over or just normal? im thinking to quit being a programmer as work load very heavy with OT all the time but being paid little. went to interview and those interviewers only offer me max 2.8, some even hesitate to give more than my current pay.

after seeing this topic http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/721431, im thinking of quit programming now as it seems like hardware infrastructure jobs are paid better than software developers.

what is the job scope for this job? is electrical engineer suitable for this position also? I dun have any experience in this field...

oh gosh, more reason for me to leave programming world. I thought programming used to be the highest paid for IT field, guess im wrong here.

ask your friend to try in server based programming, can learn much from there and higher pay too.

JD:Provide primary UNIX and at times LINUX System Administration for company operations. The position requires the individual to work cross functionally with other system administrators, operations staff, DBAs. Network operations, Mfg. teams, and application support teams across IT to provide support for this complex manufacturing compute environment. Strong Project Management skills are a plus.

I think EE can apply too as long as u like IT. Looking for fresh grad so i think u can.

u mean u work in the company part time only? so the salary quoted is part-time salary? btw ur total working exp is hmmm...10 yrs?...sorry confuse a bit..

I suggest you ask your friend to pack up his job, he is way underpaid! I am pretty certain that he can get much more than that!
