the salary range is still the same although price of things has gone up so much. 4 yrs ago i also get RM800 with STPM.

but I think some dip holder do get 1.2-1.5k. Again, it depends on your location, exp, job type and etc. 

i have been working for 4 years in an IT firm now, as far as i can see, as long as your working attitude is GOOD! no worries on promotions or salary increment!

If you are a "don't know" guy, WTF also dont know or dont care, u better shape up or else u'll stuck at ur level for quite some time!

Btw I am earning roughly 5 - 6 k only a month damn hard to survive man!

Oh... allow me to answer this. You dun need a big family to 'hardly' survive with 5~6k.

i am not married but my expenses:

housing loan = 1400
car loan = 1000
parents = 500
insurance = 300
petrol = 400
utilities (+ astro + internet)= 400
handphone = 100

total = 4100

not to mention unforeseen expenses eg. toiletries, entertainment, friend's wedding ang pow money, etc etc

if you are earning rm5000, after epf deduction etc balance 4450.00

4450 - 4100 = 350 divided by 30 days = RM 11.60 per day for your meal.... heheh

as I understand, the poster asking about current salary when new company ask about it. Do we need to put our current basic salary or total up everything (basic+OT+allowances)?

can we survive with usd2.2k for fresh diploma grads? the money will be later on spend in malaysia since i'll be living here. just work other places.
during working, food and accommodation provided. no need to claim petrol since working place just in the lower floor. can survive with current crisis?
