I always deal with functional who doesn't know where to retrieve data and very good at blaming even though the error doesn't come from my program but actually from system configuration doh.gif

I'm facing a different situation.. Need to sit beside the abaper, tell him/her, which function module to use, debug in front of them.. bla..bla..bla..

But i didn't call them brainless Abaper.. they just lack of experience. Well when u first do Abap/functional, u are not born with the knowledge rite? everyone is learning. Unless u are hired as techno consultant, then its difference.

And I guess that is why many have ditching ABAPers from 'you know where' because of the same reason. It is not what you thought you're getting, you get .. In any project, you've just enough time to guide/lead people around but many 'con'sulting firms will just put newcomers onboard or those 'cheap labours' to gain experience. You pay peanuts, you surely got monkeys!

I LOLed when I saw your first line. Sorry. Nope, 2 cycles doesn't mean you go to the client twice. It's roughly like this:

Full life cycle implementation means implementing the project start from requirement gathering, analysis, solution desion, mapping, implementing according to ASAP methodology.

It's something like SDLC only with SAP's ASAP methodology.

feasibility study -> Requirements gathering and Systems Analysis -> Systems design -> Build -> Testing -> Installation, Implementation or Deployment -> Goes "LIVE" -> Testing ...oops.....

prior to requirement gathering, should have blueprint oso.

Blueprint -> Global Template/Templates -> Requirements gathering -> Analysis -> Design -> Mapping/Config -> Implementation -> UAT -> Post-Live Support. If the project involves abap reports, then have to include knowledge of functional/tech specs as well.

For BW/CRM/HR, it's another definition for lifecycle... almost same la.. but.. got differences
*
There are 5 phases in ASAP,

1 Project Preparation- ???????
2 Business Blueprint -Blueprint -> Global Template/Templates -> Requirements gathering -> Analysis -> Design
3 Realization- Mapping/Config -> Implementation
4 Final Preparation -UAT
5 Go Live & Support -Post-Live Support

correct?

it is possible if you have a recommendation from your manager, saying that you've certain extent of skills and (or) have completed 2 full cycles of implementation

if not mistaken
