Functional :- SAP MM,SD,FI,CO,WM,PP,PLM,SCM
Technical :-  SAP ABAP,BW,XI,NETWAEVER,BASIS,AS

SAP Administrator would likely to be SAP AS/BASIS

So basically, ppl with good programming skills like ABAP will definately belongs to the TEchnical part,

So, for Functional :- SAP MM,SD,FI,CO,WM,PP,PLM,SCM; no programming is needed rite, then, what does ppl from Functional do???

Not really .. half of my friends who started doing ABAP are now happily doing functional and earning more than some of us who stick with ABAP or technical ..

ABAP course for RM35K? No thank you! smile.gif You don't really need certification .. and I don't believe in extra certification. If I were to hire someone, his/her degree should be enough, he/she should be able to do some logic .. e.g. going from A to B .. and whatifs in between .. and surely attitude too .. hee.. hee..

actually nowadays, a good consultant should have both ABAP and functional skills so being specialized is not as rewarding anymore
functional people would benefit from knowledge of programming so what you really need is more of logic flow (programming in a sense but you do not need to understand the details of how its done ie ABAP per say)

Dude, he said his company is looking for experienced SAP consultants. Working experience means nothing in the SAP world unless you have the skills.

u must be non-sap to say this.... sap is not juz doing a programming logic, but to understand the business flow as well...

Been doing ABAP since 1992 ... and stuck to it .. don't want to go the functional way .. don't want to go to the management way .. so, stick to be specialised only on ABAP for now (no Java .. just pure ABAP on R/3 and CRM). Anyway, my comment was specifically on the certification where you don't learn enough business flow in that RM35k/25days training. All these can be had during your attachement.. either in project or while doing support. Hope you understand my point there... why waste your money on certification .. (it will be different if your company send you for it tho' .. 25 days holiday .. !!)..

CRM is basically focusing on customer relationship, their main competitor is Siebel, do you think CRM will grab the big cake from Siebel in future?
