of course..the functions is the best excuse for the thickness..
but it should be very fragile i think..the upper slider so thin..and the lower so thick....

so far hows the 8gb slider ? no complaints?

It moves a bit when you have it closed and opened. By 1mm?

yeah i noticed that when u close the slider and in operation mode (not the music mode), the slider can move abit but when the slider is in music mode, the position of the slider is very rigid and secure. Is this normal?

Same as mine, it's normal.

However, mine can move sideways when in close/multimedia position lol...Can move sideway within 1mm. Only the lower part though. Upper part (VGA camera part) won't move, and it's firm when the slider in open position. Guess it's the flaw of the design, come on Nokia, you can do better. unsure.gif

EDIT: Sorry moving sideway 1mm is pretty exaggerated already...Actually slightly la, maybe quarter mm, but definitely can feel it when doing camera shots where you need to grip the lower part with your thumb...

I'm also used to it already. But the slider doesn't seems to get worse so far, and I'm starting to appreciate the slightly loose slider that makes one handed operation smooth...Now just left happiness and joy with this lovely phone, to be honest... laugh.gif

I also got mine this afternoon, took 8 days to arrive. Don't worry, the mailing system has tracking code so you'll know if the package arrive or not. smile.gif

I think it's acceptable at this point cause it's already impressive to have so many thing fit inside a phone. I would imagine a solid slider need bigger parts thus not quite possible on the n95, moreover n95 has the unique dual slide. smile.gif

Perhaps it's not Nokia don't want to do it, there's always something to compromise, me guess. smile.gif

Yeah. The E65 has a solid slider. Guess something to do with the dual slide like pigcat says.

Hey guys I have a small tip for the LED flash shots with N95. So when taking photos with flash normally it'll end up with a blue-ish photos right? At the moment you can set the white balance to sunny prior to taking the photos. The result is often more satisfying and the colours often closer to the reality. Normally taking photos with sunny white balance will results yellow'ish colour so this is just nice to counter the blue'ish flash photos.

Not a great solution, but better than nothing. biggrin.gif
