Thanks for the reply BlueBerry, maybe you can try 3000 photos + some video/MTV. By actually my main concern is not about the performance, performance confirmed to have problem, it is just time, any data sturcture will have performance issue after database growth, even oracle.

My main concern here is can N95 do it? For example, I have some private photo(e.g. self potrait) or some private video(ham dai ) and dont wish to appear in Gallery directly so that other people wont be able to see it unless they know where I store it.

Or I should put it this way, is it possible for me to configure the Gallery to show only files in selected folder?
I am new to N95 8GB, SE K810 or much more earlier version already has this feature, I felt it is very basic and I think N95 should have it. But I "think" dont know how to use it ... Can someone teach me?

yeah! , finally installed garmin mobilext gps using my internal n95 8gb receiver, plus included malsing map inside.. very detail, and got voice navigation too..

wah, maybe its just my brain slow or wat, took whole morning to do the step by step setup.. >< searched all over the net ..

I've transfered 4GBs worth of videos inside, and 400+ of photos and around 20 recorded short video clips. Navigating between menus and using any functions has no different than when it was new. Maybe when close to full maybe will lag a bit...

There's the album function in the gallery, however when you enter the gallery it'll show all the photos and videos first, then in the options there can open an album. Whether the added photo/video into album will show in the main gallery or not I'm not sure, haven't try it yet. I'll try it later and report.

Nope, loading almost instant. However, when you have lots of pictures and videos of course browsing them will lag but just a tiny bit, after that it'll load the cache into the RAM so next time the picture will load faster (demand paging then store into RAM I guess?). Basically it's quite the same as like browsing with windows explorer with thumbnail view so to me it's really impressive. Moreover, most of the pictures are 5MP...

However, browsing images not so convenient lo cause not inside the gallery unless use 3rd party application to view them.

If i am not mistaken, you guys can set the videos or photos into some albums first. Then only open the album through the multimedia key <^>. Let me try first ^^"

Yes, I store it at My Videos (video center folder) instead of Videos, so it won't appear in the gallery and video center either hehe. So all your ham dai can hide hide.

Yeah I almost forgot about the multimedia key located at the ride side of the Dpad (honestly, never press it to access menus ). However have to add in new photos into the corresponding albums which kinda inconvenient compared to just have certain files hidden from the Gallery view.

Like everyone has said. Just hide it with a file explorer and it wont show up in the gallery. I did that with some of my photos. Works flawless.

Added on December 17, 2007, 9:00 pm1. put in the memory root folder , after install , delete the .sis files ... useless edi.
2. erm , nop , memory only . but somehow i feel phone memory is faster than mass memory , i install software that is related to the phone software like those blacklist , auto-hang up softwares in my phone memory.
3.U need to sign it first . PM me or u can go to symbiansigned.com , register and sign it . otherwise , pm me for me to do the dirty work . hehe .
