QUOTE(littlediana @ Dec 14 2007, 11:52 PM) There are a few reasons why you cant see your location or it takes forever to show:1. Low satellite signal, you could be in your house. But still it will show just longer time to load 2. You dont have the map of Malaysia (if ur in malaysia) installed in your machine, you can still see your location but it will take a long time as your data packet is downloading the whole malaysia map. Unless you have unlimited data package, dont do this as I believe Malaysia map to be around 10MB or more.. which means around RM1000 using the on the go data rate 3. Your GPS receiver screwed So I have Qs for you: 1. Where were you when u try to get your location? Inside or outside building? 2. Have you installed Malaysia Map? Please install it if you havent via the map loader software. 3. Did u activate your A-GPS function already? This help to locked the satellite faster So after install map all, go to MAPS>Find place>GPS Position [0]. It shows my place in 2 secs when I stand in my balcony. If after you already install the map, outside of building and still cant show ur location, it's time to bring your phone to NCC lor. Added on December 15, 2007, 4:53 am QUOTE(harmeet15 @ Dec 14 2007, 11:39 PM) guys..need 2 ask smting.. Google lor. Just add percuma word and the hosting site i.e megaupload or rapidshare etc.if my ori map software expired..can any1 tell me whr 2 get *ahem* *ahem* version of any good software 2 use with gps.. if cant tell here..can sm pls pls pls pm me... thx Nokia map is free, it will never expired... the voice navigation is the one not free. U can also try Gamin and Mapking, which received a lot of good reviews. But I dont have it as I dont use that much GPS to go around town. Well I dont use it actually since the maps are pretty outdated anyway. This post has been edited by missgeek: Dec 15 2007, 04:53 AM |

Can the TV-out function being used for 3G video call?
I know the TV-out can be used for gaming and playing video as shown in NokMote If it can, how's the quality when the video call is projected into TV screen? Is it blocky? This post has been edited by dgtel2: Dec 15 2007, 09:14 AM |

Hi.I want to buy N95,but the duration of battery makes me pull back. So,I want to ask:
1.How long can the battery of N95 8GB maintain?(Assume that only receiving call and sending message, not using camera, hearing music,3G and GPS) 2.Does the duration for N95 8GB is better than previous version of N95? |

Hmm even if it can it kinda kill the purpose of video call cause the camera is placed in a way that it's like you're looking face to face with each other, if you have the TV out activated then the other side will see your chin and neck and maybe nose lobang if you look at the TV while holding your phone. I know the TV-out can be used for gaming and playing video as shown in NokMote If it can, how's the quality when the video call is projected into TV screen? Is it blocky? Also most video call camera is quite low quality one so displaying on the TV will become even worse. Of course a significant improvement. All in all, don't worry about the battery endurance. As long as it can tahan a full day of heavy usage, I consider that a plus cause you won't be passing through 24 hours without a power point beside you, even when travelling. @SkyW
for N95, the newest firmware V20 already reduce the battery consumption. i also able to stretch the battery life to 40+hrs under medium usage. (1-8mins call, 30-40sms, 1+hrs music, occasional GPS usage, few minutes WiFi, few photo snaps, etc) if light usage, can easily last 2 days, no problem. @eyez98 read previous posts. already mentioned quite a few times. Trust me, it's VERY easy to install...I know preinstalled stuffs felt "more original", but it's the same la even if preinstalled one has to be updated via Nokia Map Loader. 4. HandyTaskManager, damn good app that virtually looks like the windows task manager. 5. I think it's only for N81. Don't forget, Nokia (and each other brand) will add in unique functions and features to each phone. Added on December 15, 2007, 12:07 pmAnother thing that'll make you even proud of owning the N95 8GB! After checking the N-Gage site, it seems that among the high end GPS handset N95/N95 8GB/N82 only N95 8GB can do landscape gaming! Not sure about the N95 classic ler cause the site didn't state it can but nevertheless N95 8GB sure can! So that means in the coming future when N-Gage launched I think Nokia will make the 4 MM keys compatible as gaming keys! Extra 2 more than the N81! And, sorry about the MSN, I'm a real alien here cause I don't use any IM... |
