Yes, reason being no proof of income. Fine, so i pledge FD to secure a VI. That is it says only entitled for a platinum. Fine, i tell them to proceed. Then they said , need proof of salary bank in.
Then  I pledge certain sum of FD  with Maybank to get Premier 2. No questions ask for salary slip or phone call. Nothing. Then it approved within a week.

I encountered a similar issue with cimb previously with the world master card. Only difference is I was just a normal banking customer but after a few months, I tried again pledging more FD (but can't remember how much) & then it was approved. I asked them also how much FD but they cannot give a number.

I was approached by my OCBC RM to invest in Singapore , has anyone here done this ? Minimum investment of SGD200k and the RM in Singapore will advise accordingly to maintain positive cash flow. Any tips?

Lol with CIMB Preferred, i get forced to received the VI card even though I have not submitted any proof of income.

The first time I got one, I cancelled it and the RM cut it up. Next month they send another one... doh.gif

Since no annual fees, lazy to go argue with the RM..

From my understanding, CIMB preferred banking VI also doubles as a recgonition card for access to its privileges and services

yeah, usually legacy. but i remember last year there was one scheme by Tokio Marine Infinite VIP investment plan, their (for example) premium is like at 800k SGD and will get a total monthly cash benefit of 3k SGD.. and by 22 years later you break even with your premium, and whatever after you rake is pure profit. Hahha but these are more like an assurance for your kid's future lor. hahaha that is if you choose not to take up an alternate loan financing for this insurance. But this plan ended last year Sept.

But yeah it's legit, they'll fly you down to their branch there, flights and accommodations are covered. Can even stay at the Ritz or St Regis tongue.gif hahaha
