Just wanted to share my experience:-
Today I went to the MBB Private Banking Center in SS2 around 12pm. To my disappointment, they do not have carpark for their PB Customers. They have 3 counters at the 1st floor and their services are slow to the extreme one customer takes almost 30 mins to serve! Until my turn, I asked if there are any CNY angpow and they said 'No'! Can you imagine services like this are considered as private services? I was lucky to meet a good relation officer there who is kind enough to offer some help. Just take note that you may want to re-consider this MBB Private Center. |

I read somewhere in this thread that you if you are HSBC Premier customer, you can have your Premier credit card to be denominated in currency of your choice i.e US$, GBP etc, not just RM? Can someone confirm it?
Second question, is it possible for us to open an account at HSBC USA from Malaysia if we are premier customer of HSBC Malaysia? |

Anyway now so easy to get PB status, so if we did not buy any product with them, no one will layan us. OCBC KL Main PB is even worst, customers are made to stand for their turn at the teller service since there is no proper system.Today I went to the MBB Private Banking Center in SS2 around 12pm. You can open a private banking account with JP Morgan in KL. Not swiss bank but does it have to be swiss? HSBC Premier allows you to open account in other countries where they have a presence, although China is exempted due to yuan currency control. If you want to open US account HSBC should be able to do it for you but maybe you should consider Citibank instead as they have more presence in US |

I have one more question for you, Do we need to hold our HSBC Premier account for some time frame i.e. six months/1 year before requesting opening an offshore HSBC account opening in Singapore/USA etc. from Malaysia? Or we can just request opening offshore account right away as soon as we establish our HSBC Premier account in Malaysia?Definitely possible but it is subject to HSBC USA management's approval. I don't think you need to hold the account for a certain time - I did it the other way around, ie. opened a Premier acc. in UK, then came to Malaysia. Opened a Premier account here straight away , and could get a CC within a few days (they do a credit guarantee internally, back to the country where you have your qualifying balance I believe)By the way - if you're eligible for Premier in one country, you become eligible automatically in other countries without having to pay any monthly fees. However you need to keep an eye out on your account - I've noticed HSBC Malaysia started billing me monthly (RM150/month) on several occasions. After a phone call, they refund charges quite quickly at least. This post has been edited by rjb123: Feb 2 2013, 07:20 PM |

QUOTE(mrcloud9 @ Nov 15 2007, 02:34 PM) Anyone with priority banking experience and wishes to share their experience? Apparently the turnover of RMs at Citibank's Citigold is very and there are too many customers while Stanchart's Priority Banking is too slow. Any comment? Some bank's RMs are very good and efficient too. Very good info. List of banks and their priority banking services as well as minimum balance requirements: 1. Maybank Private Banking - RM 500k 2. RHB Premier Banking - RM 200k 3. CIMB Preferred - RM 200k 4. Alliance Bank Privilege Banking - RM 200k 5. Bank Muamalat Prime Banking - RM 200k 6. Public Bank Red Carpet Banking - RM 500k 7. Hong Leong Priority Banking - RM 200k 8. Citibank Citigold - RM 200k 9. HSBC Premier - RM 200k 10. OCBC Premier Banking - RM 300k 11. UOB Privilege Banking - RM 500k 12. Standard Chartered Priority Banking - RM 250k 13. KFH Priority Banking - RM 200k 14. AlRajhi Affluent - RM 250k most of them require the funds to be placed in FD to ensure it won't drop below the minimum entry requirements. some provide complimentary Platinum or World or Infinite Credit Cards as well. Creating a preferred or privilege banking would somehow bringing up customer's demand and expectation. Pro and cons available. |

Any comment on Ambank? I think I haven't seen anyone mentioning about Ambank here yet. There's one near my house, which is convenient, but not sure how's Ambank's treatment. Hope someone can share his/her experience with Ambank priority banking here. Thanks.

QUOTE(kaching @ Mar 3 2014, 03:35 PM) Wonder what is preferential rates being offered to clients who make placement of deposits in their priority/ privilege banking? Fixed deposit rates? You can check the FD thread for that. Different bank different, but most of the time, not much difference between priority/privilege and normal counter for FD promos. Some you can nego for higher interest if you have a large sum but no priority banking also can nego with branch manager. The RMs will push a lot of investment products instead of FD if you go into priority/privilege banking. |

For Ambank, do be warned that not all branches have priority banking. However, I would say their services are good until recently where my RM resigned but I do not even know who is her replacement after more than a month. |
