Thanks Chase. You are very informed on Priority banking. I have one more question for you, Do we need to hold our HSBC Premier account for some time frame i.e. six months/1 year  before requesting opening an offshore HSBC account opening in Singapore/USA etc. from Malaysia? Or we can just request opening offshore account right away as soon as we establish our HSBC Premier account in Malaysia?
*
I don't think you need to hold the account for a certain time - I did it the other way around, ie. opened a Premier acc. in UK, then came to Malaysia. Opened a Premier account here straight away , and could get a CC within a few days (they do a credit guarantee internally, back to the country where you have your qualifying balance I believe)

By the way - if you're eligible for Premier in one country, you become eligible automatically in other countries without having to pay any monthly fees. However you need to keep an eye out on your account - I've noticed HSBC Malaysia started billing me monthly (RM150/month) on several occasions. After a phone call, they refund charges quite quickly at least.

Maybank VI comes with 5 X free PP entry, Amex Reserve comes with the VI card and PP too.

VI is rm80k spend to waive AF, Reserve RM100k combined.

Maybank priority bank will offer maybank vi card?
*
If you have priority banking I'm sure you'll get approved, in worst case just assign an fd against the card.

But AF is only waived if the yearly spend is reached

Have a look in the credit card section, much more info there.

i thought you must spend above RM80k on either VI or Reserve in order to get annual fee waived? I couldn't find it saying that if reserve need spend RM100k combined.
*
My bad, got mixed up

Yeah, it is RM80k, not RM100k

Couldn't say - I use HSBC + Maybank - haven't found either particularly useful.

Other than skipping queues in Maybank branches

Looks like you got a bad exp. From Gen-X's blog his RM really hebat.
Not really. Money stuck there and cannot move out.
Sure can. Just that divided among too many banks. tongue.gif Or too humble to show hand.  notworthy.gif  devil.gif
*
Sure you can move it out - just lose the Premier status

RMs generally aren't interested to get in touch with me as I tend to do my own investments (where they can earn majority of commissions from!)

I mean like Unit Trusts as example or other investments they offer, normally I just keep FD / foreign currency deposited.

Probably the most (or only?) useful thing about Maybank PW is the new "Wealth" app which you can sign onto through fingerprint in iOS. Fastest way to check balances !

Ya they now implemented this recently. I heard that is because minimum for Citigold is US$100k (worldwide or some countries ??). So increased from RM350k 1 year ago to this year RM400k due to u know the reason la. But >15 years ago until just 2 years ago, RM200k. So now other than UOB which is RM500k, I think Citigold is the next highest AUM for PB.  biggrin.gif

And they enforced the 400k to existing Citigold old and new customer.  biggrin.gif
*
I don't really see Citigold being any better than other Priority banking services to demand a higher AUM.

At least HSBC Premier immediately issue a credit card without having to suit anything - Citibank it took me multiple applications and a couple of months!

But if one got transferwise and SGD account, better than priority banking.

Just my 2 cent.

To transfer from SGD to USD?

SGD account to Interactive Brokers is also an option and convert there - no spread at all!

U are their Citigold customer ? Your complain is Citigold customer yet take months to get credit card ?  hmm.gif
*
Yes, Citigold

I'd have thought with having a qualifying deposit and pledged FD it'd be a quick and easy procedure - never had this problem with Maybank or HSBC for example.

Anyway not a big deal, just something I'd expect to be quite hasslefree.
