I estimate one urvan van can take up to 10 kids max.

I think for B40, must at least earn 4k max. So maybe they charge RM 500 per student for a month?

So revenue = 5,000
less van loan instalment = 1000
less fuel cost = 1500
Profit = 2500

Damn how to survive? one month only earn 2500 in 2025 ?

Also how does van school driver find their passengers? do they like register with the school then ask school to find students want to use their service?

I saw some school vans put up cell phone number advertise on their van.

Just clarified with my gf. This transporter charges RM180 for single trip. From school to tuition centre monthly. Some students charges about 260-300 monthly for 2 days trip. Then, 1 day got 6-7 trips. 1 trip can fix like 15 students max.

My gf cincai count, that transporter got like over 20k alone in the fee(haven't deduct petrol fees)

What they need is volume

The transporter/driver also need to be responsible for the kids safety. Remember a case, whereby the driver left a child in the vehicle. The child died. Quite big responsibility. Make sure also got dash cam etc etc for road and personal safety ya.

you doing this part time or full time?

500/student X 5 students = 2500 - 1500 = 1000 net

how to survive?

I think minimally 10 students.

At 500 per student per month, 5 students should be able to let you cover your expenses and have some left over.

I'm just telling you the bare minimum to survive lah. No one ask you to fetch just 5. Is up to your vehicle capacity.
If your first response is to nitpick pointless things like this, then I don't see much chance for you.
There is no such thing as a safe or guaranteed business and running a successful service requires good PR with your clients.
Best of luck if you wanna try it out.

actually i thinking do this job after retirement. But do for fun only maybe 5 kids go n bak from school.

speaking from my personal experience picking own kids. if picking up 15 students per trip the responsibilities and pressure is insane. Have to jam 15minutes to reach, and 15minutes to go back. Then sometimes kids blurblur no turn up for dunno what reason, and sometimes got kids MC/EL or LATE. If u accidentally missing one kid u probably end up in balai or worst case kena belasah by the parent.

The transporter u mentioned confirm is Top10 in Malaysia already if he can earn 20k. Not easy to reach that level. Your gf which area if u dont mind telling?

U need to know the route. This transport rich because of the students that the tuition centre provide.

The route it's only from centre > school > centre > school and repeat.

No need to go different house and fetch student one by one from different locations.

Simple they just illegal squeeze kids over the cap and drive multiple rounds.
If not mistaken, yellow van is 15 ppl max.

My house to high school was ~7km distance, calculate about RM 200/month

The school van ferry 6 schools in my area with 3 vans drivers are a family couple + a son.

Some of these primary and secondary schools operates two sessions.
Not mistaken atleast have 100.

Oh ya meet back my Van Driver auntie yesterday, still driving that old van that pick me up since 2007... laugh.gif

if above 7km, the charge can go higher ?

does van driver charge like that?

so if driver makes 2 morning session rounds, can earn up to 6k
then 2 afternoon session, can earn another 6k

I am not sure if van can pick up 2 times in morning, maybe 630am reach school and another round 715am ?

provided full capacity

Yes, but that RM 200 pricing was in 2014 the last time I rode.

provided full capacity

Last time purposely need to wake up 5.30am in the morning, just to sit van to school, which arrive around 6am, then reach school 6.30am.

School starts at 7.30am. Can atleast fetch 2 rounds.
But then got 3 van drivers. laugh.gif

Your mileage may vary.
