u work all day long u know , 6am to 10pm, then do this over 24-28 days !

petrol, traffic, sun blazing , parent yelling, oil change , eat food pack are part of the package, sometime even kid fight in the van u need intervene one u know...

my bus uncle last time do independent high school and government school. Both school have different timetable. Usually won't crash.
You also can do high school and primary school and kindergarten.

I look at a brand new Maxus van 12 seater

damn, instalment macam 1.8k per month.

maybe fuel, loan and maintenance about 4k per month

need to make at least 11k.

I think today present rate 250 is too low, unless you are driving a bus.

About 350 at least. wah means have to pick up 31 students

that's macam 2.6 times (drop off and pick up = 1 time)

500 per head?

Doubt any parents will use it.


Get a used van.


Also when school holidays do some private tourist trip to cover, this is what the bus sekolah driver did.

Used van definitely the choice of school van, no point brand new, good condition and safe to drive already enough

Fuel RM 1.5k diesel fuel probably too high because i think if the school van is on proper channels usually with subsidy , those 3.5 ton commercial light truck with fleet card weekly 1k mileage plus engine idle all the time on 40 stop per days lets kira minimum 4k mileage only RM 1.2k monthly for 100 liter fuel tank maximum 500km range each refuel, so for proper van bus just local use i think only 2k mileage max monthly , and diesel like Toyota hiace van usually more fuel efficiency than light truck.

u gotta be kidding.

i think minimally a driver needs to earn 5k net.

if you factor in loan, running cost, petrol maybe 2k taken away per month.

So one has to make at least 7k.

if you are talking about 100 per kid, need to take 70 kids per month.

how is that gonna factor in?

even if you can do 2 trips morning 2 trips afternoon. Biggest van = 15 capacity.

70/15 = round up to 5. Impossible man.

You think that vans that ferry kids to school only do just that send kids to school in the morning and fetch them home after school? They do other job as well. Same like busses that fetch factory workers, how to make ends meet if you have to go to many pick-up point. If companies pay for too many bus services also expensive. That is why companies give bonus to those who are willing to stay in company hostel.

Instead of going to many pickup places where only few boarding the bus, the van become like feeder to the bus. Van will collect workers from various areas and station them to the bus pick-up points. With factory shifts at 3pm, 7pm, etc the van would be utilized for this than just kids going to school.

My side here A guy using Ford Transit as Bas Sekolah. school range between my Taman and school around 18km. One Full Tank 100 liters can go avg. 700+- Km. One day 4 trip...one month around Rm450-550 diesel. Maintenance around 1.5k. Bank Installment Rm1.2k. Seat Capacity 17 ppl. =One Pax he charge RM300 (Seremban)
Earning Rm5.1k (Morning - Noon) RM5.1k (Noon - Evening)

Fuking Rich man.....He house renovate nice nice and his ford transit always in tip top condition. Big Money Earning.

last time I had meeting with my relationship bankers

one such who hire this transport for her school children, she said they charge so high that even relationship banker VP want to work as bus driver.

Hmm Ford transit, may consider this brand.

Can even do airport taxi if want to.

I can consider other services lah, but for me, I am more focused on post retirement, so I am not going all out to earn income

If you do this, you put more strain n wear & tear on your vehicle. What if touch wood, major accident or maintenance then your steady flow of income will gone. Parents when hear you cannot provide transport for 2 weeks or more due to vehicle accident or broke down, will never trust you again pull out go to other transporters.

Maybe have to scramble to ask other fellow bus driver to temporary help.

By putting your van more on the road, you putting it higher risk of accident or breaking down. More worse if you decided to buy 2nd hand already wear & tear and maybe parts harder to get if you buy China brand Maxus.

I just want to earn at least net 6k-7k/month, enough to pay off my insurance premiums and not strain on my savings.
