Ok come I share U. My gf work for a tuition centre and she engaged with school van drivers. Surprisingly if U don't know, the charge I heard for a trip to school and a trip back to the centre is only RM180/month. BUT there is still parents are complaining RM180 is high.

Anyways, these driver got high volume. 1 day I think more than 7-8 trips and I know earning is 5 figures (not all drivers earn that much. But I know the top 1-2 drivers actually have that. But need to drive morning till evening lo)

180 ???

mind as well not do. You have your own fuel, repair and loan to pay for your van.

morning how to do 2 rounds? I mean, maybe 1st pick up, 615am to 645 am, then do second pick up, 7am to 745am ? macam ini?

very rush wor...need to plan where everyone stays...if reach school late, sure parents complain.

if 180/student, you need at least 40 students to pick up. I estimate 7k is the break even. So need to do 2 pick ups and drop offs for morning school and another 2 pick ups and drop offs for afternoon school.

180 is just too low. I think RM300/student is a fairer price.

Ok maybe got some miscommunication here.

The delivery route is not from
House > school
School > house
If according to above route. Then it would be hard because all students have different location.

The route is from
Tuition center > school
School > tuition center

They work like above only

must be chinese school lah

I notice schools like Lick Hung in Subang, no need van, as just next door to school, the kids walk to the shop houses to go for tution.

because chinese schools a lot of homework, so they require these tution centers to teach them.

I no surprise it is half price.

tution centers probably have to cut price as parents complain they have to pay tution fees + transport.

am i right to say?

Wow..deja vu indeed. I never thought about the timing until this very morning when a van stopped at the housing roadside and picked up a school kid , when I was driving home after dropping off my kids.

Then I wondered which poor students must wait earlier than other students becoz thats the timing the van is taking to optimize the route. sure some kids must wait at 6am while others can sleep 40min longer and wait at 6.40am for van to arrive.

Were you able to make 2 deliveries in one morning?

Let say one load = 10 students
2 load = 20 students = 13,000

Also how do you get yourself registered with an international school? You go to their admin office and ask? then would the school refer for you?

the thing I am afraid is, some markets are saturated, then if one buys a van, suddenly only able to get 5 students (less full capacity). Rugi wor.

Next thing, is obtain an urvan, which model is best? Go and buy one? buy second hand? How much does a 10 seater van costs? brand new = 140,000 ?

Nah.. i have a family to jaga so I only do one round to school in the morning and back to homes in the afternoon. About 5 hours work daily.
Most schools have a registry for transporters or join local/school communities on FB/Whatsapp.
As for not getting enough students, that's the risk of business.
How much you willing to fork out for the vehicle also depends on you.
I can say, Urvan is not a good idea. First of all, it is a phased out model no longer sold by Nissan Malaysia.
Secondly, it only comes in manual with 3.5L engine. It's going to be a shitty driving experience with an expensive roadtax.
For noobie who wanna try transport service, I recommend a 7 seater just so you can dip your toes without heavy commitment.
Alza is a very good starter vehicle. Just pick the spec with leather seats.

7 seater can earn meh?

each month 4,550 judging from 650/month. But not bad idea if you have 2 businesses.

For eg, morning I do student delivery then afternoon to night, I do freelance tution business.

so you mean to say you don't always get full capacity? By the way are you using a 10 seater or Alza ?

welcome to the real world bro... why people hire you to fetch their kids? to let you stress about the jam and beat the traffic behalf of parent. if you can't take stress because of rushing, better not. else you have accident lagi worst. no one said being a school van driver is easy.

NOthing is ever easy.

but for those who are out of work, this is a good option

better than real estate agent.

sure you have to wake up early and drive kids to school.

but if you work hard and do this for morning and after school shifts 2x a day, you may be able to earn up to 10k.

40 students, if you charge 250 each. But that's in a perfect world. In an imperfect world, you may not get this many passengers. Sometimes perhaps van also cannot reach full capacity.

Never overestimate the income. At 500 per student per month, 5 students should be able to let you cover your expenses and have some left over.

750 - Alza loan per month
300 - Petrol, average rm75 per week
200 - Toll if necessary
300 - Keep for maintenance, roadtax and misc.
Total expense about 1.5k

You'll have to be prepared to have none or little income for at least 2-3 months. Don't do this if you have no savings.

you doing this part time or full time?

500/student X 5 students = 2500 - 1500 = 1000 net

how to survive?

I think minimally 10 students.
