6 more months to macmini m5. Really hope the tariff war doesn't screw up the pricing. Will be upgrading from macmini m1.

Apple don’t always update their Mac mini line compared to their MacBook line and have been skipping generations. For apple silicon they skipped the M3 line while in the past they also skipped on some of the intel line.

Mac mini normally shipped from Shenzhen/Vietnam, both countries tariffed by the Trump administration.

Well we don’t really know how the future is…

If you don't need it now, you probably won't need it then. Why wait?

I suppose I could get the M4 but the plan was M4 for mba and next refresh for Mac mini. If not M5 then M6, I guess. The only thing I'm missing that I want is 10Gbps and to a lesser extent AV1 codec.

Update:
I just bought the same cable as yours. Same issue...when go to stock market, whole screen is flicking non stop....what color profile u set?

Returned my mac mini m4 pro with 24gb ram + 1tb storage and went for the m4 pro with 48gb ram + 512gb storage instead. Figured I can always add storage via the thunderbolt 5 ports (tested with my 1tb nvme in a tb4 enclosure, it was pretty fast) but can never upgrade the ram myself.

Am using the computer headless, NoMachine + TailScale working superbly smile.gif

How do you like your Mac mini?

Needed to up my budget to get 1 powerful Mac to retire my 3 computers at home (dell optiplex 3060, 5060 and 7060).

All in one device to be my new personal computer, media server, and vm hypervisor.

More than 11k for unit with 48gb ram. Traded in my iPhone 13 Pro Max for 18xx and the mac mini came under 7k.

Yeah it’s a mini power house worth the bang of the buck. I did consider the M4 Pro due to larger RAM and storage, but my usage probably wouldn’t reach that level, so I just save some money and got the base model instead.
Was hoping to upgrade the internal SSD in the future once the warranty expires. Hopefully by then the SSD market for Mac mini is more matured.

I think my use case can also be met with the M4, but was too tempted by the higher memory bandwidth (more than double?) of the M4 Pro.
