I am considering to get it in HK mid Nov if the MY launch it too late.  But I notice in some HK youtube about the Mini 7, seems like Apple Intelligent is disabled in HK Ipad.  Not sure is at hardware level or just location.  Anyone got any idea how those geo-restriction is working?

Maybe hardware restriction as China/HK no AI stuff.

If your iPhone model ends in CH/A then it cannot have Apple Intelligence at this time as it's restricted by the Chinese government regardless of the physical location of the iPhone.

How to get Apple Intelligence - Apple Support

For China residents: Apple Intelligence will not currently work for supported devices purchased in China mainland. For supported devices purchased outside of China mainland, Apple Intelligence will not currently work if you are in China mainland and if your Apple Account Country/Region is also in China mainland.

When Apple Intelligence is available in the EU or China mainland, previously purchased devices that support Apple Intelligence will be able to activate and use it in that region.

yes, did a google search and seems like it is hardware locked, have to wait for MY launch then.  Hopefully can get it before my HK trip mid Nov.

I still plan on visiting a Switch when the Mini 7 is out to see how much they will offer me for my Mini 6. If only around RM50-100 less than what Apple is offering me, then I will just go with Switch for the convenience of doing the upgrade on the spot.
