Please bear in mind that the annual fee for this card cannot be waived. The first year is waived but you'll need to pay for the subsequent year. Anyways, most of the holders are of this card are businessmen, i'm sure they don't mind. And by the way, this is NOT the card for you if you don't fly often with SIA.

yes, i guess the reason annual fee cannot be waived because if you spend RM45,000 and above per year, they give you 22,500 miles as bonus which is very attractive! i m frequent traveller... esp with SIA, RM2 = 1 KF mile... perfect card for me

It's a charge card before, now they changed it to credit card.
I think the charge card design is better.

Just the green personal AMEX. Will switch to Gold AMEX next year. Hopefully they will still have the 3-year annual fee free promotion going next year

Amex didn't give me a waiver on my Amex Platinum Credit Card. I had to pay a whopping RM800 for but since it came with the Shangri-la Prestige Card and a RM2k Longines watch I figured I'll bite it and pay the RM800! *gulp*

Perhaps I could get a waiver on the 2nd year?! I've spent enough in my first couple of months since I been with Amex. Checked my points, have about 354k points to date.

The iPod Nano promotion came as a bonus so I was determined to ensure I was one of the 600 winners !! *grins*

Seriously tink, why bother? Shd just cut it & say bye bye to them. RM800 is a lot of $$$ and with the crappy service they been providing, can be put to more use elsewhere. And that's a whole lots of points there, makes us drool only

But seriously, if you have still yet to get a SCB card, now would be a good time, what with their guaranteed gifts and all

The thing is that i hate making the call. Which is why all the cards i'm using now are all free-for-life

And yup.. I have absolutely no intentions of paying another RM800 for the 2nd year - so I'll just wait till my 1st year is up, redeem all my points and move on to another bank , unless of course Amex offers me a waiver.

I'm still waiting for RockIron to get back to me on the waiver of the Amex Platinum Charge Card I guess I just want that for show! hAHahAHhahAHahA
