I got a call recently from MBB offering Amex CHARGE card. I asked CS what is the difference, since I'm using MBB Amex CC. The unlimited credit, which must be settled every month.

MBB Amex CC also 2x treatpoints, 2x at all petrol pump, etc. Seems like no different with my current spending pattern, hence I decline it.

Just stick to the ones you are familiar and comfortable with, most of these schemes are only temporarily and doesnt last long

american express under maybank's management seems to lack interesting activity even lifestyle events. i remember getting an invitation to go cruising on a luxury liner a few years ago. lately theyve been pretty boring!

Hmm... current normal MBB Amex CC already has 2x TP forever. No need apply and pay to enable the 2x. My opinion is, unless you utilise the platinum benefits for personal/business reason, otherwise it is just a Wow Factor to get the card.

MBB Amex CC is different from this new platinum card... this card is issued and owned by American Express itself, no maybank logo on the card and also different customer service from ordinary MBB amex cards.
However, if you have time to look and compared Treatpoints and Membership Reward Points, you will find membership reward point is more attractive than treatpoints!

Amex Charge Card: no preset limit, pay full amount each other.
Amex Credit Card: Preset limit apply, pay min amount each other like any other Visa or Mastercard. This card allow you to earn Membership Rewards Point.

Yes... i love the design.. the amex logo looks cool smile.gif

From what i heard, first year is unable to waived but then subsequent years maybe ok to waive depend on the usage of your card.

Yeah, the higher points stuff looks better in Amex membership rewards smile.gif

I did a quick comparison to find a similiar item: RM50 Parkson Voucher
MBB Amex Credit Card = 8,000TP
Amex = 9,000 MR

The new Amex Platinum design looks nice thumbup.gif

Not me. Even in the future if I have net income of RM1 million/year, I will still think many times paying >RM200/yr for a credit/charge card fees.

I mean, frankly I prefer to donate the RM2k to charity like MAA-Medicare Kidney Charity Fund or something else.
