tishaban>> u have a US issued amex card right ? it depends on you though.

If u use the card more at the state, then u can keep it there. However, if u use it more often at malaysia, is better to ask for a global transfer to save from the exchange rate.

I meant the bank will charge the merchant for some fee - 3% for Visa/Mastercard and 6% for AMEX. What I wanted to know will the merchant that offers AMEX, will they pass the 6% or extra 3% (if compared to Visa/Mastercard) to the customer by including that in the bill? If you did purchase computer/computer accessory or handphone from Low Yatt or Sungei Wang Plaza, you should get what I'm trying to point out.

not as high as 6%. around 3.5% normally.

I'm so disappointed today that I couldn't get MBB AMEX. The CS called me today to verify my application and I asked will I get the free for the first two years offer. She said that it's meant for new application. She said that since I'm just adding another card on top of my MBB Visa, I won't be getting that for free even for the first. I double confirm if I'll be charged upon receiving the card and she said RM60 will be charged.

I just found out about the Turbo membership! So wasted! I just spent 20K on a down payment on my car, and charged it to my AMEX Kris Flyer card thinking it will give me the best air mileage...turns out it's not!

If I had charge it to a normal AMEX I would've gotten a better mileage return sad.gif

Are you applying for Amex Charge or Amex Credit card?
i apply both almost the same time, and both give me free annual waiver.

AMEX Credit Card. The bank staff told me if I apply, I'll entitled for free waiver for the first two years.

Then, I confirm again with the CS and they told me that if I were to apply from the branch, I'll get free waiver for the first two years.

Next till the day they called me to verify my details and application, I asked again about this and the CS told me that since I'm adding a additional card on top of my MBB VISA, I won't be getting that and on top of that, I'll be charged RM 60 immediately upon receiving the card for annual fee. I was so furious and asked to cancel my application!

For your information, the turbo program is not entitle for AMEX Kris Flyer card... if you use amex charge card during the promotion period, yes... u get to earn more miles than the kris flyer card.

thats true. when it was the membership turbo rewards a few years back one must enrol in order to start collecting double points. these days no more like that.

lauyamonk,
any insider info hinting when is the arrival of black card in malaysia?
*
rumours saying tat maybank is trying to work out to bring the ultimate amex card- centurion card to malaysia. if maybank can bring in centurion card to malaysia, the annual fee would roughly be RM8K-10K. in SG its already $SGD5K. icon_idea.gif
