Not recommend to get spending point from AMEX. Go for other credit card provider.

I assume you are not a AMEX member and as such do not know much about the reward points.

If you refer to my earlier post you will notice that AMEX point redemption for vouchers is very compettive with HSBC or citibank if not better. Furthermore Amex members get points for filling up petrol. With the present 2X reward points, AMEX reward point program is currently the best in terms of Ringgit spend for 1 reward point versus any CC in the market (maybe except for UOB One Card which gives very good rebate at Carrefour only).

I just redeemed RM300 food vouchers from AMEX as last 3 months have been using AMEX more frequently smile.gif

If you have time.. try to compared the redeem points required for AMEX and other credit cards said HSBC and Citibank... you will surprised why we like AMEX here smile.gif Furthermore, like what Gen-X has mentioned, AMEX is the only card that entitle for reward points for petrol fill up smile.gif

Before the 2x points promotion began, yes.. we have to enrol in the program called Membership Reward Turbo where you have to pay RM50 for the period of promotion in order to earn 2 points per RM spent.

thats true. when it was the membership turbo rewards a few years back one must enrol in order to start collecting double points. these days no more like that.

lauyamonk,

are u guy discussing amex charge card?
i found its very stupid need to pay RM25/50 in order to earn point. The point only last as long as u continuing pay the membership fees.
Where with visa/master i dun have pay anything to keep my point alive.

is forever.Confirm not during promotion period.Promotion period is selected merchant u get 5x, 10x mr points. However some card need to pay sgd10 annually for 2x mr points or sgd40 annually for 2x mr points and you can convert ur points to frequent travelers miles.

yeah..and they have more variety of card to choose from..i guess is abit difficult here coz the business is now handle by maybank. So only can get maybank amex co-brand card..the krisflyer gold credit card there is quite famous and the benefits are good..

malaysia earning mileage is not that popular.the only one simillar is the citibank air asia card but it sucks.

if i am not mistaken..uob infinity sg offers 0.80++ cent spending to 1 frequent travelers miles.how i wish can get at here

same here... i dont really like to use my point to redeem on any gift... cos i find it kinda expensive... not really worth it. i rather accumulate more points and transfer to my frequent flyer account and enjoy my holiday in somwhere smile.gif ahahah
