i dont quite agree. when it comes to american express, your membership tenure matters a lot. they really appreciate your loyalty. so those who are long enough being their loyal cardmember, they accord you the "charter membership".

aiya, people talking about 00 on card and it "looking cool" and not how long one have been a member lah.

what is "charter membership"?

and since now Amex is being operated by Maybank, does maybank cares how long you have been a member?

ohh liddat. yeah it still matters although now amex is under maybank. charter membership is a subcategory of membership reserved for loyal cardmembers. i know in malaysia there's gold charter membership but im not sure about the green card though. if youre a gold charter member, youre above normal gold cards but slightly below platinum cards. theres a dedicated call centre for you just like platinum and if im not wrong your annual fee will be waived for life.

ya.. green card do have charter membership which we call it as "personal charter card"

try to become a charter member and call to call center, see how the customer service rep great you.. then you'll know
how much amex loves their loyalty card member smile.gif

is there under any circumstance that a platinum card member could call in for annual fee waiver? perhaps if he is a big spender?

mrcloud9 > Not sure about malaysia market now, for me last time.Platinum charge hardly can waive annual fee, infact the annual fee is worth for the exclusive service. However, if you insist then exceptional basic.

Besides just waive, they will offer u some spend base fee waiver la..this and that..depend on the officer.

about the member since, amex really look into it. I made my decision on what can i do for the customer with the justification of member since, spend history, payment record. But usually, if you see member since freaking long ago, no problem one.

louyamonk> malaysia still got green charter arr..hahah sg sudah obsolete.

Any AMEX card holder here? since not many shops accpet AMEX, can anyone of you share your opinion how to earn membership reward point fast?

Not recommend to get spending point from AMEX. Go for other credit card provider.
